My students can expect a lesson that's full of fun, engaging and accompanied by a high level of passion and energy. I'm result oriented and very dedicated to my students and provide students with a lot of constructive feedback during the lessons. Lessons will mainly focus on students strength and weaknesses, through many different means. The lessons are supplemented by several materials: work book problems, live game play, analysis of student's own games, online resources, classic game review and much more. My custom lesson plans are based on the student's own background and experience. I am always committed to making each lesson fun and exciting!

Wanted to share my experience. I'm in my late 30's and wanted to improve my chess skills, and i'm so happy I was able to find Sam. The lessons are challenging, but at the same time very fun! I have already improved my USCF rating by 372 points in 3 months!! After having tried 3-4 other chess teachers, Sam's been the absolute best and will stick with him!
I teach chess in school settings and private lessons. The skill of students ranges from beginner to intermediate. Some of my students have ratings up to 1200. I can teach you at your home, at my home, or a public place like a library or coffee shop. A typical lesson will be an hour and include a quick chess puzzle, a substantive and level-appropriate lesson, and a challenge game with analysis. All lessons are very dependent on student level, and may include only some of those components.
I have been working with students for several years in formal and informal settings. I have a degree in psychology, with a minor in statistics. A couple years ago I began coaching chess at several local DC area schools, and tutoring private students. I love to help people learn a new subject, and I am especially passionate about engendering the joy of learning in young people. I've recently moved to the Harrisbug, PA area, and am now teaching lessons here!

I am taking weekly lessons with Bora in order to push my game to the next level. Bora is passionate about chess, and it really shows in his approach to teaching, which I find to be both entertaining and effective. Bora is also a nice person all around and I would not hesitate to recommend him to my friends and/or their kids.
I love to play chess and to teach beginners of all ages This game exercises the analytical and spatial awareness parts of your brain in ways that will strengthen your overall brain function.
I teach gospel piano and beginner piano, flute, chess and English/ESL.
Use your ears, use your fingers and all the other gifts God gave you to assist during your local worship service. I come from a long line (4 generations) of church musicians. I trained classically on piano and flute - and can teach the basics for both instruments across genres. I have also been a journalist for The Associated Press (gotta have a day job!). And have done grant writing work for nonprofits. I can help you improve your English writing and speaking skills. And I love to play chess (gotta have a hobby!). But when it comes to Gospel - you need a little theory and a lot of heart and soul to develop your musical ear! Come join me at my storefront church or we can meet up online. After you get the scales and common chord structures down, you'll be ready
"Had my first lesson, it was fantastic! Sam is very professional and an amazing teacher. I have already recommended him to my friends!"

"Aaron has been teaching my 9 year old son chess lessons. After several months with a weekly lesson, my wife and I are very pleased with his progress. At f
irst we had our doubts about whether online classes would work. The truth is that we are very satisfied because the use of technology added interest for my son in learning. Aaron is very patient and makes the lessons enjoyable, with some humor. He has a teaching method that combines strategy and theory with a love for the game. That is the magic of learning and is the key to advance one's knowledge of any discipline. Now we play more and more competitive matches and his progress is very noticeable. We also appreciate Aaron's feedback about how each lesson went and tips to work on during the week to reinforce what was learned."
"My son and daughter joined 6 months back both are really liked the chess class and improved a lot Siddharth it was greatly appreciated."
"Josh makes learning fun. I had a really good time learning chess.
I can't wait until next Sunday."
