Hi, there! My name is Stephanie and I look forward to working with you. Swing dancing is so much fun and can be as laid back or as energetic as you want.... I've been teaching private lessons since 2008 and have loved helping my students feel good about what they are learning, and accomplishing the goals they set forth.

Learn to dance for your wedding, social dancing, or just for a fun way to stay active! I teach several styles of Latin and Ballroom dance.

My lessons focus on connecting with your partner and being in tune with his or her movements. A proper connection makes it easy to quickly learn new steps, and to move together as naturally as possible.

For online/video lessons: You might think a partner dance would be hard to learn online; to learn to lead or follow well, it's important to have tactile feedback in order to feel the relationship between your movement and the results from your partner, and vice versa.

However, with attention to body mechanics and a focus on alignment and movement technique, you can still learn a lot online. Especially if the thought of group classes is intimidating for you, starting with online lessons can help you learn some basics at your own ...

No experience needed, Sophie will help you reach your goals by sharing her knowledge and passion for partner dancing.
We will work as a team and follow your comfort, learning pace.
You will feel set up for success and ready to burn the dance floor ( or your kitchen floor in the meantime that social dancing starts again :-) !!)

I am a classically trained dancer with 20 years experience in performance. I have always been passionate about historic costumes and was introduced to historic dance while getting my degree from Ga. State University. I am currently the director of the Atlanta Historic Dance Company. I've performed, taught and choreographed for performances on stage, at historic events and in the film industry for the last 10 years.
Historic Dance can run the gamut between beginning level dances up to professional level performance. I can tailor your lesson to fit your needs. The most popular lesson at the moment is the 1920's Charleston. I can also offer lessons in popular social dances from the Renaissance up through the 1960's.

Whether you’re in love with salsa, bachata, cha cha, rumba, tango, swing; waltz or just have an event you need to look good for or you want to make someone happy; I’m here for you! I’m very passionate about teaching and dancing and I make sure that everyone’s dance journey is filled with fun, friendship, understanding.
My students always leave with a smile, saying they feel more motivated and energized after the lesson. I adjust to their learning style, keep instructions clear, simple and do my best to make them feel free to express themselves; to let them know mistakes are part of the learning process and to move towards their specific goals with every session.
