*** Lesson Details ***
Jessica brings a lot of fun to her lessons. She is like a cool aunt or a big sister who likes to have a good time but who also wants to teach you to play guitar or ukulele and sing, hopefully at the same time. Jessica's laid back style and attention to your needs as a student will help you reach your goals, whatever they may be. Together, you will go as fast or as slow as is comfortable for you. Jessica works with classic rock, pop, folk and all your favorite songs as your step ladder for learning. Jessica also can help you develop your own musical style and teach you to write YOUR OWN SONGS from beginning to end, if that is of interest to you.
*** Studio Equipment ***
amp, microphone, keyboard, guitar, ukulele, music stands
*** Travel Equipment ***
Guitar and Ukulele. Students can rent instruments initially but must get their own, as soon as possible
*** Specialties ***
Classic stringed instruments such as acoustic / electric guitar and ukulele, and several unusual instruments such as singing saw and electronic and standard autoharp, singing, songwriting and guidance on how to monetize your band, including acquiring sponsorships and arranging local and international tours.
***What Are Lessons Like?***
Student(s) and teacher sit together and start with the basics, then move on to learn others' songs (The Beatles or other classics are a good place to start) and then may even try to compose original songs, if that is of interest.

I have a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Master's Degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in jazz and percussion performance. I have an extensive performance background playing many different kinds of percussion including drum set (rock, jazz, etc.), concert percussion (orchestral, marimba, etc.), marching percussion, and a variety of hand drums.
I have also done a lot of teaching on many levels from private students on drum set to directing a high school drumline. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, and I hope to work with you soon.

I ran into Albert in midtown recently and happened to mention an issue that always seems to come whenever I audition generally, and without missing a beat, Albert came up with a perfect, simple solution that had never occurred to me during my entire auditioning career. For free. He’s a problem-solver.

I also have to add that his ability with an entire chorus is equally impressive and inspiring for them. Many times members of the cast have approached me to compliment Albert and his unusual and fascinating ways of teaching and imbuing the score "into their very core."

I always was interested in learning to sing opera and was a complete beginner when I first starting taking lessons with her. We did our lessons at my house, which was always really helpful and convenient (she can also do online lessons, too!).
Stephanie was always so patient and encouraging, even when I had trouble with certain songs. She genuinely seemed happy for me whenever I made progress! She also helped me a lot with breathing techniques, which is something I always struggled with.
Stephanie is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had and would highly recommend her to anyone!

As a teacher I try to pass my love of learning music of all types on to my students. My goal is for every student that comes through the doors of my teaching studio to not only improve technically, but more so to have the way that they listen to music be transformed. My musical philosophy is that the musician with

“As exhilarating to listen to as it is a towering display of vocal prowess. Thomas has such vast range, formidable technique and minutely nuanced command of microtones that she can do it all. Guitar books can be a great help for kids who are interested in guitar lessons. Guitar teacher Matthew K. shares five of his favorite guitar books for younger students... The guitar is an instrument that has to be learned by doing. During my experience as a guitar teacher, I've found it essential to use a book for kids ages six to ten. Books can keep the student on track, but should not be the only teaching method used. It's important to keep lessons fun and interesting with songs and riffs t … Read More
