Let me start off by saying that math is my FAVORITE subject! In these tutoring sessions, you will receive help with homework, prepare for tests and quizzes, and better your overall understanding of math. I teach with patience and fun because I feel that this is the key to achieving goals and inspiring a good work ethic.

About Jessie
Thank you for your interest in lessons! I hope to help you achieve your goals and improve your skills, whether you're looking for music lessons, or help in math. Every student is a unique person who deserves a lesson customized to their individual needs. Each of my students prosper in an atmosphere of patience and encouragement. While the lessons are fun and enjoyable, the serious student will be supported in the development of skills leading to a rewarding career, and the more casual students will grow in an appreciation of knowledge that will enrich their lives.

Experience:

I received my bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis on vocal performance at the University of Redlands in 2011 (which I attended on a music talent scholarship), and am now an active performer in Los Angeles, CA. I have been tutoring and teaching privat
e lessons for almost 10 years, and currently have over 40 active students.

I have played leading roles in several operas and musicals in Southern California, including Gianni Schicchi, Die Fledermaus, La Boheme (DTL nominee), The Impresario, The Grand Duke, Patience (DTL award), Cosi fan tutte, Little Women, Seussical, and many more. I have also appeared in several concerts, opera scenes, competitions (winning music scholarships and theater awards), and worked as a singer in churches, restaurants, and in pop bands. I continue to stay active in the performance industry, and I could never live without it!

With this experience under my belt, I feel a desire to pass on my knowledge to students. I carry a strong passion to help people develop their abilities and make them their own. I truly believe that if someone wants something out of life they will achieve it with dedication, perseverance, confidence, and by having FUN doing it!

LET'S MAKE MUSIC!

We had never tried any type of tutoring prior to finding Jessie. She exceeded our expectations by far! After just 4 one hour lessons online with Jessie, my daughter’s Geometry grade has gone from an F to a C! I am extremely confident that my daughter will pass this class and the final exam. Thank you Jessica, for your knowledge and patience. I will recommend her to anyone I know that is looking for an amazing tutor!

I have been teaching math for several years now and understand the need for a good foundation. I work with students to find any concepts they have missed or do not fully understand. My goal in teaching math is always comprehension not grades. After laying a good foundation, it is amazing to see the improvement and success my students have had!

About Benjamin
I have extensively studied vocal performance for many years and continue to add to my own technique. I have a Master of Vocal Performance Degree from the Chicago College of Performing Arts. I currently work for a recording studio (Sound Summit Studios in Naperville IL) where I teach voice and help singers record their music in the studio. I have previously taught at The School of Rock in Indianapolis Indiana. I have administered vocal lessons to every voice type at all different levels. Several of my students have recored albums and are currently performing all over the U.S.

I have a bachelors degree in biology with a minor in art. After graduating college, I was a full-time high school biology teacher, volleyball coach, and director of the school musical. As a high school teacher, I learned first hand the kind of pressure and expectat
ions that are placed on students in order for them to succeed. In college, I was the head student researcher on a two-year lab project. I took several upper level science courses including: biochemistry, calculus, organic chemistry, calculus based physics, cell biology, anatomy, and physiology. I studied marine biology in the Virgin Islands and am CPR certified.

*** Lesson Details ***
Voice lessons with me are fun and effective. You can expect to hear improved technique from day one, eventually reaching your long term goals. I begin every lesson aligning the students voice through various vocal warm ups and exercises. We then work together to pick repertoire that will suit the singer'€™s voice and they will enjoy singing. During a lesson we will also cover performance presentation, acting, diction, rhythm, musicality, style, and interpretation.

During tutoring you can expect a personalized plan based on your goals and aspirations. Since every student is different you can be assured we will come up with a plan that is designed just for you. I am a laid back tutor but will be sure to get the most out of you after our time together. Most students see at least a one letter grade improvement. My main goal for every tutoring session is student learning and comprehension.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano, recording equipment, large collection of sheet music

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in helping students find their true singing voice.

Yeah. Benjamin is great. For years I struggled to find a teacher who taught in a way that I could understand and who knew how to teach the male voice.

Not anymore!!!

Terribly exciting today. Learned about (and played harmony notes on the piano.) Something I knew nothing about 2-3 wks. ago. Now starting to merge piano notes with musical harmony. First time in a couple weeks things are coming together.

First, I had some previous singing lesson but did not really get to sing properly and my throat was always straining. Benjamin took me from the basic with breathing and how to correctly lean on the air. It took a little time, and now i feel so comfortable when I sing. My vocal resonance and control has really improved. I do not sing with my throat no more, I feel effortless and I control my intercoastal muscles very well. Benjamin is really Great, Patient and Understanding instructor. He has made to start loving and accepting my voice.
I strongly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn the freedom of singing and how good it feels to sing your favorite songs at ease.

Learn Mathematics of all levels in practical and instinctive ways. So many filters have been stacked on top of the direct understanding of Math that it's no wonder everyone feels overwhelmed.

This course is to be used as a miscellaneous course for Mathematics for students who are unsure of their current standing in the subject. Analysis will be used in sessions to identify the students Math Skills and place them in the correct course in the list.

My teaching strategy includes personal experience understandings of a particular problem that lead students astray. My observations lead me to introduce a direct road for your specific learning style.
In short, I use countless different perspectives to show a certain mathematical concept until it naturally clicks.

About Christopher
With eight years experience at Valencia College and 2 years at University of Central Florida I have experienced a wide variety of students between the ages 7 to 60 years. This experience has enabled me to customize lessons in one to one sessions with each unique student and their unique needs.

My teaching methodologies include plenty of visual aids, simile's, and clear communication with a strong emphasis on Socratic questioning to stimulate critical thought in solving the giant puzzle that is Mathematics.

The road to a successful student is the ability to stay strong through speed bumps as the reward of understanding far surpasses the struggles that might be experienced.

I have a doctoral degree and 30 years of teaching experience in mathematics at public and private colleges. I have also done much one-on-one tutoring and curriculum planning. I am now retired.

I can help you learn arithmetic, algebra, finite math, trigonometry, or any other area of mathematics from primary or secondary school, or beginning college math. I have heard my students say things like "This is the first time I ever understood math!"

First of all, you have to believe that you are capable of doing mathematics. You may have heard well-meaning friends or parents say "You don't have a math brain" or "You are not a math person". These are counterproductive thoughts. In fact, anyone can learn mathematics. If you adopt a positive attitude and make good use of your study time, you can make great strides!

As a math major, I am very passionate about numbers and get a lot of enjoyment out of watching students' confusion turn into understanding and confidence. During my tutoring sessions, I make sure we are getting as much done as possible, but I keep it light-hearted and fun. I am a huge believer in the importance of explaining problems in multiple different ways so that the student can choose which way makes the most sense to them. My sessions also focus on confidence-building: one of the main problems I come across is that students have a perception that they are bad at math, making it harder for them to succeed.

I am a passionate, hard-working individual who truly cares about knowledge and teaching others about the material that I have learned. So you're looking for some math help? Well you've come to the right person! I understand that each person is unique in their own way. We all have our own learning styles. What makes it so much easier to learn with me, is that I adapt to your learning style and incorporate intriguing activities into learning to make it a much more interactive experience. I strive for comfortability with me and my students. When I was younger, I would come home from school and pretend to be a teacher while my younger sister was my student. I would teach her the things that I know she learned based off of her homework. Needless to say, I really have a passion for helping others succeed. I hope you find me very helpful. I work to build a trustworthy professional relationship with my students. My motto is, "your answers are not wrong if you continue to try and get them right."

About Gabrielle
I am first a loving mother of one. I also have nieces and a nephew whom I love very much. I enjoy being a family person and a homebody. In my spare time, I like to design e-commerce sites, do many crafts, and also play the sims game. I also enjoy watching natural hair videos and learning new hairstyles. I love to travel and explore all kinds of new things. I am very talkative and humorous, I just love to have quality fun. I think being myself and not trying to be a perfectionist makes me a great person, and teacher!
