As a teacher with 10 years of experience and as a professional actor, I work with students of all ages to find the performer inside them and their authentic voice. I believe that singing is not just sounding good but the truest form of expression.
I use both vocal and acting techniques to work with you and bring forward your true artist and confident self. What will make you a great singer is the ability to be authentically you! The vocal styles I teach are classical, musical theater, jazz, pop, and rock. In our lessons, I will teach you a proper singing technique, song interpretation, audition repertoire, audition technique, and music theory.

About Becca

Hello! My name is Becca Jackson and I have been teaching voice for the past 10 years. In addition to my students, I work professionally as an actor. I have performed across the United States on the Little House on the Prairie national tour as well as working locally at The Walnut Street Theater.

Nothing is more satisfying than hearing yourself playing a song that moves and inspires you! With 15 years of playing guitar I now pass on that knowledge to my students. Helping people learn the fundamentals of guitar playing and music is both an amazing and invaluable experience. We will not only go over how to play the guitar but also music theory and how to write your own songs! I try to keep my lessons both fun and engaging as they are not just about drills and lesson plans but instead are catered to the individual student and what they want to learn. I teach all ages as it is never too late to pickup a guitar and start playing! I also rent out guitars to students just starting out who do not have an instrument yet for $5 a week and give advice on how to pick their first guitar! I am also available to teach online or in person!

I am classically trained as well as trained in Jazz and comp style by reading chord charts and popular song chord progressions. I particularly enjoy classical music, and have numerous awards through the Certificate of Merit Music Teachers Association (MTA) Program of Southern California. I have completed the entirety of the MTA program through their advanced level and have been invited to play at numerous honors recitals. I understand musical theory, chord progressions, the fundamentals of music history, solfege (singing while playing to train the ear to musical notes), and the various aspects of reading and playing music on the piano. I also enjoy playing other instruments such as the alto saxophone, flute, ukulele, and guitar.

My lessons will offer beginner and intermediate progression through music theory, classical piano playing, solfege, music history, duets, and extra musical content such as jazz and popular songs if the student is interested.

"Nice and solid first lesson. Jason hit the ground running by quickly assessing where I was and then providing me with info to help me move forward. I walked away with straight-forward exercises to get me ready for my next lesson. I appreciated that Jason reached out before my appointment to gauge my experience and was very positive as I moved (that is stumbled) forward. Jason manages to jam a bunch of information in a short amount of time without rushing. I look forward to my next lesson and am encouraged to put in the time to put my best foot forward."
