I work with beginners through advanced students. Opera, Broadway and Pop. Lessons are tailored to each individual singer.
I help develop good habits and singing with support and proper resonance. I can help beginners and singers who need to break bad habits and get on a better track!!

About Stephen
Stephen made his operatic debut in the title role of Gluck's Orfeo in Santa Barbara, CA. Other roles performed in the United States have been Oberon in Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream, the title role in John Eccles' The Judgement of Paris and Sesto in La Clemenza di Tito by Mozart. Among the roles sung in Europe were Orlolsky in Fledermaus, Bertarido in Rodelinda and Oberon in Sommernachtstraum. He has been a soloist in many Churches and Synagogues in the United States and Europe. Highlights have been Messiah, Elijah, St. Mathew Passion and Cantorial soloist for the Jewish High Holidays. I love music and especially singing, but I never knew how to sing correctly. Stephen has taught me how to use my voice, and sing properly to a tune. He is very proactive and has a really good ear, so don't expect him to not hear when you are making a mistake or improperly using your voice on a particular note. I have confidently began to sing songs I thought I would not sing, and have surprised myself astoundingly. If your dream is to sing well, then this is definitely the instructor for you!

My first lesson was great! Stephen goes into great detail and is very encouraging. Being someone who has never sung before, and who doesn't like the sound of his voice, I'll admit that I left the class with more confidence than I had imagined I'd get from a first lesson.

Great voice teacher, with an amazing voice and technique

I took voice lessons with Jen in high school and college, and always had a positive experience. I started when I was at LaGuardia High School, and the singing lessons weren't enough at school. Although I do mostly musical theater now, I had to study both opera and lyrical music in high school and college, and Jen was able to coach me on songs I needed to have ready for exams and juries. However, most of our sessions were singing lessons (not coaching). A great perk was that she gave me recordings of our lessons which I could listen to later with comments from her, and that I could practice along with. She has a massive voice, and taught me a lot of technical skills about projecting and sustaining my breath.

I've found that some teachers have been out of the loop of performing and singing professionally for so long, that they forget what it's like to be the student taking lessons. But Jen is still involved in the business, so she's familiar with what does and doesn't work in a lesson. She's also really nice, which is always a pleasure.

Plus, if you get lucky, her partner might be available to accompany the lesson at the end so you can sing it full-out to her, like a real audition, or jury.

This was my first private lesson with Dr. Daniel, most importantly he made me feel very comfortable and I wasn't afraid to sing notes in front of him. Dr.Daniel took the time to gather my history and take notes about what I said. Dr. Daniel was very thorough for our first visit, even though I had only booked my first class to be 30 minutes. I look forward to taking more lessons with him and am excited for our next lesson! Thank you so much!

Though my time as a student with Dr. Dan was short, it was very valuable. Even though the lessons were about singing, it helped me gain a general confidence in myself regarding posture, and using a loud voice. He has given a number of exercises to develop my breathing, vibrato, tone, and lower registers to use on my own. Dr. Dan is a great teacher who makes the atomsphere of the lessons very friendly and I would highly recommend him!

What an interesting animal is singing, no? This depends completely on you, the student. Where you come from musically, your influences, your goals, expectations, self image. All of these things affect how I react to you. I work with my students on a highly individualized level to truly tailor my knowledge to your needs. Proper technique is wonderful, theory is important, but sometimes its raw musicality that just needs nurtured.

About Kiyan
Hello, and thank you for reading!

My name is Kiyan, I am a classically, contemporarily and pop-music trained singer, music director, recording artist, composer, and teacher.

I have studied music of all genres very intensely, including everything from early Baroque technique, opera, musical theater (golden age to contemporary), gospel music, pop music, rock music, all the way to every single Beyoncé riff.

I am currently a full time recording artist and performer. Teaching is the best way to spend my free time. I LOVE having open minded people come to me so I can really show them how to get the best sound out of their bodies. To me, teaching is as much a spiritual, social and mental exercise as it is musical.

I can help you sound as good as you can. I've cured tone deafness countless times, and I have a strong theoretical bac
kground as a pianist for which to fill your brain with information. And we will have so much fun. :)

Cheers, and love!

I took vocal lessons with Kiyan for a little over a year and he definitely taught me how to use my voice properly. We did a range of styles from classical to more contemporary music. He also taught me a good amount of music theory as well. If you decided to take lessons with Kiyan, he will certainly cater to your individual needs as a singer, and I'm sure you'll notice improvements with your voice in just a little while after starting lessons!

I Havel
found throughout my 25+ years of teaching that learning to sing is much deeper than just singing. It is also learning confidence, how to become an artist how to develop and how to break through emotional blocks that we have all put on ourselves. It is a great way for children, teens, and adults to become stronger, happier, and more confident individuals not only in singing, but in their life. I have seen this confidence blossom over and over especially with my students.

About Elena
BIO: Elena started her musical studies at age 4, singing with the "New York City Opera Children Chorus". She studied at Manhattan School of Music. She studied in Hunter College and Queens College of the City University of New York and the Bejar Conservatory in Salamanca, Spain. She has performed in Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall and throughout Europe as a soloist. She has participated in the Master Classes of Alfredo Kraus and Monserrat Caballé and David Jones. Study singing with a WORKING Broadway singer/actor! I am a veteran of three original Broadway casts and two Broadway national tours, as well as dozens of regional productions across the country. Whether you're singing for your own enjoyment, doing high school or community theater, or auditioning for "Hamilton" in New York, I teach a healthy and versatile technique and will focus on your individual needs and goals! Singing should be expressive, dynamic, and FUN!

About George
I've been lucky enough to have achieved my dream of performing on Broadway and I love sharing what I've learned over my twenty year career. Singing is a natural expression of who we are, no matter our "talent" or skill level. It's not mysterious or scary if you know how to direct your energies and coordinate your thoughts, your breath, and your voice. It should always be fun, a true expression of your individuality. The greatest singers in the world don't sound like anyone else. They sound like THEMSELVES! I'll maximize the beauty, expression, and ease of your sound, whether you're a beginner or have a final callback for a Broadway show.
