Jonathan has a demonstrable amount of knowledge about the violin including different playing styles, music theory, and its practical application. His approach is incremental and measured that adapts to my specific strengths and weaknesses intermixed with an appropriate amount of patience. He is also very personable. I always look forward to our lessons together.

*****Each Online Lesson with Free Video & MP3 Recording*****

I grew up bilingual English and German, attending an international school from a very young age. I attended, also, a German public secondary school, where I earned a diploma, and I completed German credits at the college level. I taught German in the language lab of a community college, for special needs students, and for private agencies, such as Tutor Doctor. My emphasis is on a comparative introduction of the language to draw out a common ground and familiarize possibly daunting differences. I also enjoy asserting that German is often underestimated as a rewarding second language to study. I have experience teaching German literature, elementary German, and German grammar. I lived in Germany for over 18 years. I am member of the Association for Language Learning, located in Leicester, UK.

About Erol

My style and attitude toward teaching tends to be conversational, reflective, and interactive, along the lines of current research on effective education. I have developed a talent with certain creative arts, such as imaginative writing and electronic music production; as a result, I am computer literate, capable of assisting with computer assembly, maintenance, and design, as well as productivity software. Due to my limited funds, I do not have direct experience with the Adobe suite, but I have extensive knowledge of related, free distributions that are transferable. I also have formal education in the field of English, innovative leadership, and Education.
My current level is ABD in a PhD program that is thus nearing completion. I am member of the Association for Language Learning, located in Leicester, UK.
My most popular subjects are as follows:

American-English Pronunciation Practice for ESL (AEPP-ESL):
*****Each Online Lesson with Free Video & MP3 Recording*****

Carefully following Burkkowsky's (1969) multi-media method, I have taught this subject for over five years for public and private causes, such as library, individuals, and language schools. My emphasis for pronunciation is a scientific, comprehensive overview and treatment of the various sounds, rhythms, inflections, and patterns the spoken language integrates. I encourage practicing and mastering both the sounds themselves, as well as how the sounds are connected and contextualized. I use contemporary sound recording and .wav editing software to involve audio feedback and self-monitoring.

This spreadsheet and data management software program is of crucial, pivotal importance in any business and financial environment. The program enables efficient and prompt development of arithmetic and statistical calculations of vast data sets. It also helps to visualize and juxtapose related or even discrepant variables. My approach to teaching the program is cumulative and holistic, starting with an introduction to personal inventory management to the processing of large data sets using pivot tables, charts, and dashboards. My emphasis is on making the program as intelligible and transparent as possible to avoid frustration and intimidation. I use a lot of examples and visuals that are readily available.

Typing:

I teach the touch-typing method that is the convention for most journalistic and input-intensive organizational settings. I enrich the teaching with resources from the web, such as speed-building and error reduction.

Completely bilingual German/English speaker with 20+ years experience teaching and tutoring German to students from different cultural backgrounds. The goal is for students to be able to actively use the language and not be afraid to experiment. The focus is on meaningful conversation and reading authentic texts. Classes are creative, fun and held to 95% in the target language.

About Annika
My first tutoring experience took place in first grade when I was asked to assist a newly arrived Vietnamese girl with her English. I myself had learned English when I first came to the United States at three years of age and could relate well to some of the issues the newcomer was facing.

A true global nomad, I have lived in Germany, the U.S., Mexico and Russia and have traveled extensively. Starting with English and German, and eventually Spanish, French and Russian, I have been instructing students since 1989 in various countries of a variety of ages in a multitude of informal and formal settings.

In 1990, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Russian Studies from George Mason University. In 1995, I completed my Masters Degree in Secondary Education/Teaching English as a Second Language. After one year of working in a public school
setting, I began teaching privately and on a freelance basis for a number of private companies and language schools, and the government.

What is my approach? First of all, I listen carefully. I believe it is important for an excellent job to know precisely what my client wants to accomplish. Understanding this is the prerequisite to reach the goals of the student. There will be a permanent interaction between my client and myself to monitor the progress, eventually speed up the tempo or, if necessary, to slow down.

There is no dogma; there is only one main criterion: success.

About Wolfgang
I spent two decades of my professional life teaching English in Germany, authoring and co-authoring textbooks for the English classroom.
During my stay in the US, I had the opportunity to develop curricula for teaching German in public schools as well as private schools and wrote articles in the field of German literature. Undoubtedly, my academic background (MA in German and English and a Ph.D. in the field of education) helps me to provide solid work for my students.

What is my approach? First of all, I listen carefully, very carefully. I believe it is important for an excellent job to know precisely what my client wants to accomplish. Understanding this is the prerequisite to give good advice, guidance and then, of course, a plan, a kind of strategy to follow in order to reach these goals.

Most highly recommended! I found Wolfgang to be an excellent German instructor for me. As a mature (50+) professional I was looking for a native German with perfect mastery of English and impeccable teaching credentials. Wolfgang fit that description perfectly. He tailored the lessons to my needs and made them fun. Along with the excellent language lessons, I really enjoyed his stories about life in Germany, and especially his hometown of Berlin. Thanks to Wolfgang I am much farther along my journey of learning to speak German.

Wie geht's (what's up! How's it going)? If you're looking for a German tutor to help you get through your studies in school, your music as a singer, or as a casual speaker, look no further. We'll practice writing skills, conversation skills, and improve pronunciation (so that your German is "Hoch Deutsch," or what the Germans call "High German" pronunciation).

About Nicole
Nicole is available to teach lessons for students of all levels. Beginning her singing career when she was 7, she most recently sang at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, was a winner of the international CS Competition in musical theatre, and is a Chicago F.A.M.E. finalist for Jazz and popular music. Combined with her training and professional experience, Nicole teaches singers to switch gracefully between multiple styles. She practices what she preaches: one night she might be singing Beyoncé, and the next morning she might be singing Handel's Messiah!

Nicole has been a young artist for Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre, Metropolitan International Music Festival, and for Tiroler Opern Programm, under international instructors, including Elizabeth Bachman (from the Metropolitan Opera), Kim Josephson (Metropolitan Opera), Sharon Cheng (Caramoor),
Michael Fennely (Carnegie Hall), Wei-En Hsu (Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra), and Candace Evans (Santa Fe Opera). Nicole earned her Associates in Theatre from Brigham Young University ('12) and went on to acquire her BM in Vocal Performance from Illinois Wesleyan University ('14). Nicole obtained additional training from Boston University, Elon University, and the University of Alaska Anchorage.

I have instructed over one hundred students in private German courses. I routinely exceeded student retention expectations. In a period of eight months, my efforts doubled the number of students enrolled in the German language program, through my professional and effective teaching.

About Valentina
• Russian native speaker
• Professional proficiency in English and German
• Familiar with Romanian and Turkish language
• Experienced instructor
• Able to plan and organize a classroom curriculum
• Able to communicate and coordinate with a wide range of individuals

Hello, my name is Valentina. I'm a Russian and German teacher.

German

I specialize in teaching German at the High School level. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in German and spent a year working and studying in Munich, Germany. I then found work in a private school and instructed over one hundred students. I have since continued tutoring individually specializing with online lessons.

My goal is to improve my students’ language skill through conversation and I push my students to speak German from the first lesson. I believe this helps students gain fluency an
d lose their fear of making mistakes while speaking. No one can be perfect in a month but the student needs to be comfortable enough with grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation so that they can communicate in German and improve through conversation and dialog.

My youngest students were 6 years old and I have also taught older students. I enjoy working with children and am fascinated by how quickly young students can learn and grasp languages. Especially when learning is incorporated in a game where a student can passively learn to use new vocabulary as a tool to win a game among others. I am very grateful for all my students and the wide variety of experiences that I have had interacting with them.

Russian

I am an experienced language teacher. My experience is teaching German as a second or third language to Russian and Romanian speakers, but since I am a native Russian speaker I can use what I have learned teaching German to teach Russian.

My teaching philosophy is to learn through practice. Everyone makes mistakes and part of learning a new language is overcoming the fear of making mistakes and being willing to work through errors to convey an idea or thought. People learn a language best when they use it as a tool to achieve a goal.

I am a native Russian speaker and I have studied Russian since elementary school. I graduated from Chishinau university, where 40% of the courses are taught in Russian including Russian grammar and literature. I have taught private courses as a German teacher, to Russian speakers, and therefore I have experience explaining Russian grammar and conversation. I have a deep appreciation for Russia’s literary heritage and am constantly reading classic Russian texts.

I have experience teaching online Russian language to English students. My materials are adapted to English speakers and my beginner students are excited and able to engage in Russian small talk within 6-8 lessons. My lessons are efficient, well planned and productive.

I’ll teach you spelling and grammar rules, I’ll extend you vocabulary and we will always be practicing and reviewing previously learned the material. I help encourage my students to study Russian. With me, you will smoothly move from a beginner to more advanced. I create a low stress and efficient learning environment.

I enjoy working with children but also find it rewarding to work with motivated adults. I am looking forward to working with you.

Many people speak German - but teaching German is a talent . I was born in Germany, lived there for 35 years and then I came to America.  I was always fascinated with languages. I went to the Gymnasium and at the tender age of 10 started learning Latin, English and French. While you are learning all these languages the German language is taught the same way. The emphasis is on grammar, conjugation, declension and especially positioning etc etc. I realized a few years back my talent for teaching a language. I teach the way I learned it . The grammar has to make sense, then one can construct sentences. There are so many rules and then so many exceptions to the rules. The student learns about culture, politics, entertainment.
My students come from all walks of life, I can prepare the student for the Goethe Institute requirements to get a work visa.   Some students realize that they have a real language talent, then we work through all kinds of different books, newspapers and internet. ...
