I have taught over 30 math students at all levels, elementary through high school and college, algebra 1 and 2, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus and standardized test math (ACT, SAT, GRE, GMAT, ASVAB, GED).

I have turned D's and F's into B's and A's. Let me show you how successful you or your child can be!

About Matthew
Dear Parents and Students,

May I be a personal tutor for you or your child? I have been successfully tutoring for over 12 years. I have great references, and I am one of the top tutors because I am so easy to work with. I teach in person, or via TakeLessons classroom, telephone, Skype, FaceTime, Google Hangouts, Join.me, Appear.in, Screenhero (remote desktop, screen sharing) interactive whiteboards, as well as email attachments (PDF, Word, Excel, etc.) I graduated with honors, Summa Cum Laude from Case Western Reserve University, where I made the Dean's List. I also earned a Provost Academic Scholarship for my excellent test scores, including 34 in ACT mathematics and 780 in SAT mathematics.

In addition to teaching for Cleveland schools, I currently teach 20 private sessions each week, 1st through 12th grade, as well as college stud
ents and business professionals. I have also served on the faculty at Cuyahoga Community College.

I am patient, friendly and many students tell me that I explain concepts more effectively than their teachers. I am available weekdays or weekends, days or nights, throughout the entire year. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have regarding my experience and teaching methods. While it should go without saying, I have a clean background that has been verified by the FBI and BCII. Let me know if you would like to set up an introductory lesson to design a customized strategy. There is no obligation to continue unless a customer is 100% satisfied.

I am one of the Top Five Tutors for:
1. most diverse subject matter
2. widest student age range
3. farthest geographical regions
4. largest client base
5. most hours taught monthly

Please note: I have set up my billing in thirty minute increments. Thus, I am able to offer lessons of varying lengths. However, I would appreciate longer sessions. I thank you for your time and consideration and look forward to being at your service!

I have a doctoral degree and 30 years of teaching experience in mathematics at public and private colleges. I have also done much one-on-one tutoring and curriculum planning. I am now retired.

I can help you learn arithmetic, algebra, finite math, trigonometry, or any other area of mathematics from primary or secondary school, or beginning college math. I have heard my students say things like "This is the first time I ever understood math!"

First of all, you have to believe that you are capable of doing mathematics. You may have heard well-meaning friends or parents say "You don't have a math brain" or "You are not a math person". These are counterproductive thoughts. In fact, anyone can learn mathematics. If you adopt a positive attitude and make good use of your study time, you can make great strides!

Math from Algebra all they way to Calculus forms the basis for work needed in Mechanical Engineering. In addition, many problems in Computer Science require a good understanding of basic algebra and logic concepts.

I would try to teach this subject in a manner the way I was originally taught. Start with the fundamental reason why the subject is needed for the problem you are trying to solve, and then build on top of from there by proceeding to learn the steps.

About Gaurav
As a graduate of the Carnegie Mellon Mechanical Engineering program, I had the opportunity to provide guidance to students in multiple ways. I helped incoming freshman in the Introduction to Mechanical Engineering classes as a Teaching Assistant and also as a grader. I made sure to provide clear feedback on all homework assignments to ensure that students were steered the right direction.

As a teaching assistant, I would assist the professor in proctoring exams so I have a lot of experience interacting with students and being able to adapt to different situations.

Before college, I spent two years tutoring at Kumon Learning Center in high school where I would teach younger elementary school children Math and Reading. As I go forward, I'd like to continue to share the knowledge I have and help people learn.

I also have previous
experience tutoring online and have multiple students learn the fundamentals of the subject they wanted to understand. I look forward to working with you!

With 7 years of experience as a certified K-6 teacher, I am dedicated and committed to optimizing student success, academically and socially, in one-to-one settings. Targeting your child’s learning style, I can support his/her development in any foundational math concept or skill using creative, realistic, and interest-based teaching methods.

Resume, references, and student testimonials are available upon request.

About Yoonnie
As a certified Pennsylvanian K-6 teacher, I am dedicated and committed to optimizing student success, academically and socially, in one-to-one settings. Hailing from The Sunshine State, I have obtained both a Bachelor's and Master's degree of Education from The University of Florida. Within two months of completing my Master’s internship in 2011, I was hired as a full-time 4th grade reading and math intervention teacher. Following that, I moved to New York City and became a homeroom teacher to a class of 4th grade English Language Learners and three classes of higher-ability 5th graders in a high-needs public school in the Bronx. With a desire to expand my reach to an even more diverse population, I moved to Abu Dhabi and taught students from 15 different nationalities at an international English-medium private school for these past 2 yea
rs. As a result, I possess a wealth of knowledge and experience in teaching and mentoring children from a variety of cultural and SES backgrounds, including ESOL, underprivileged, urban, and suburban.

As I strive to ensure that all students receive an excellent education, I believe that my skills would not only be able to meet your child’s needs, but also cultivate a happy, lifelong learner. My strength lies in connecting with students and using that to motivate and challenge them with personalized, interest-based and innovative teaching methods. I also have a proven track record of helping students reach and exceed expected growth on standardized tests. One of my favorite things about teaching is getting to the “lightbulb” moment where the concept clicks with the student and he/she is able to understand something that was confusing just a moment ago. I would love the opportunity to support your child in improving his/her confidence, social skills, foundational reading, comprehension, vocabulary development, writing, and other English language skills, along with developing his/her aptitude in math, science, and social studies.

Resume, references, and student testimonials are available upon request.
