We can also explore the family of 3 Dunun (Bass Drums) and the other rhythmic instruments such as shakers and bells. Easily understand the "clave" patterns and rhythmic structures of African drumming, with a look to their roots in countries such as Guinea and Senegal, as well as how they have evolved into popular American culture.

Playing the djembe is a great way to enter into the percussion world. There are many playing opportunities (if you're willing to look) to play with an ensemble such as a church band or jamming with friends. Everyone needs a good djembe player! In djembe lessons my goal is to teach you basic techniques, music theory, and rhythms to get you comfortable enough to use your djembe skills to perform confidently with a musical group.
