Jason is a guitar instructor who looks forward to helping students grow as both artists and a musician. He teaches both acoustic and electric from beginner to advanced age 4 to 94.

Jason has been published in a number of Rock N Roll Magazines as well as taken lessons for years with grammy nominated musicians.

Many of Jason's private students have been with him for years and a few for over a decade.

No matter if you are interested in learning to strum your first couple of chords or master that next metallic guitar solo, Jason will help you throughout the process and keep you motivated with enough knowledge and techniques to keep your fingers busy.

I teach all popular music styles including Blues, Rock, Jazz, Country, Bluegrass, Latin American Styles. I can teach you to read by notes and/or by chords based on your preferences and styles you choose to pursue. I like to give a solid foundation to all beginners learning to read music and basic music theory and as they progress I will concentrate more on elements that are more important for the style you prefer. I am flexible in my approach as I know the most important ingredient for a student's success in music is for the student to be motivated to play more by enjoying the lesson and the practice time. I'll work with you to make it learning fun!

I have always been something of a mathematician at heart, and I believe in teaching students to apply that sort of methodical critical thinking to all aspects of music. I believe that music education should be goal-oriented, but that there are certain aspects of music that are fundamental whether the student wants to play funk, modern extreme metal, or to write the next atonal masterpiece. To this end, I always meet my students where they are and focus on where they want to go, addressing these fundamentals in a way that will be engaging for all.

I encourage students to delve into theory and technique deeply enough that they shift from being sets of rules to being a framework and a tool that can be used (and abused) as needed, and I seek to help my students build the mental and physical roadmaps that they need to achieve this goal.

I also teach lessons specifically designed to help students build confidence and understanding on extended range guitars.

Munro is a dynamic composer and musician who has been teaching for over 25 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Arizona State University. He has attended the prestigious Juilliard School in NYC to further his study of composition and orchestration, and also Berklee School of Music in Boston.

During lessons, Munro utilizes modern teaching techniques to assure quality results for his students. He has experience and success working with students of all ages, regardless of previous musical experience.

He is well versed in Music Theory, Modern Contemporary Harmony. Other teaching styles Munro can accomodate are Blues-Rock Guitar, Improvisation, Composition, and Orchestration.

I teach beginner and intermediate guitar to children (6 and up)
I also teach adults beginning to advanced levels.
