I want to help you play from your heart. Music is a magical part of life, and I can help you learn how to play music that people want to hear. I will show you how to conquer the mechanics of the process so that you can focus on the beauty and joy of the music.

Music can also integrate our mind, body and soul. I work with students on all levels. We will break thinks down into manageable bits and bring it back together and synthesize it into a whole.

My life as a saxophone player began with humble beginnings. Through dedication and hard work I've become experienced musician in Jazz, Broadway, and music production. I've played shows with critically acclaimed productions of Aladdin, Chicago, and Hello Dolly, and have worked with actors like Hugh Jackman. Pretty much anything you want to learn, I can help you! Want to compose? Want to improvise? Working on flute or clarinet? I've got you, and I'd love to help!

I have been training on the saxophone for upwards of twelve years! I have been giving lessons since 2015, and I am qualified to teach beginner to intermediate players. I've earned top chairs in my county, district, and state, and students of mine have gone on to do the same in their own ensembles! I have also played in select honors bands, such as the Great American Marching Band in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I am a skilled teacher, having served as a middle school teacher's assistant and summer camp music instructor. My prices are competitive because I simply want to share the joy of music with you or your student!

Private one-on-one saxophone instruction has been my primary vocation for nearly 30 years. I've also worked as a professional performing musician for over 35 years. Each lesson is tailored to the tastes and needs of the student, with traditional method books rarely used once the basics are under control. Instruction is based on a strong working knowledge of scales. The informed use of these scales leads to a heightened understanding of improvisation, ear training, and other practical aspects of music theory. Students are encouraged to choose from a variety of jazz standards and transcriptions, classical themes, and pop tunes that I’ve transcribed and engraved. Rudimentary instruction is also available for saxophonists wishing to learn flute and/or clarinet.
