Find the voice of any drum or percussion instrument and make it sing. Students of every level benefit from rhythmic breath and speaking the words of the rhythms. Beginners will find the sounds of the drum, learn the language used to explain patterns, and quickly memorize rhythms by name. Everybody learns differently, we will write, speak, feel, or clown around until you fully grasp the rhythm. Intermediate and advanced students will benefit from a variety of techniques from around the world to employ to make even familiar patterns sound fresh. Special attention is given to the trance rhythms of the world, from the Sahara and the rest of Africa, north across the sea, west across the ocean, and from the east.

I am a professional percussionist. I have been teaching private lessons since 2010 and is currently available to teach lessons at your home or in my home studio, and online.I have helped my students to learn how to read music, obtain good hand posture, develop their technique and musicality.
I received Bachelors of Music in Percussion performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University in 2015 and Masters Degree in Percussion Performance at the DePaul School of Music in 2018. I look forward to helping my new students achieve their goals.
Beginner students will learn how to read music, how to properly hold drum sticks, learn basic strokes, drumming techniques, beginning rudiments.
Intermediate and advanced students will learn how to improve their playing technique and virtuosity. They will also learn how to approach a specific piece of music; how to become expressive and creative with their skills.

Attacking the students aspirations and goals of their personal requests to the trainer, and getting to know the client and where they would like to see themselves in a limited time of training so the clients money and time isn't left in the mud! We will play and organize our curriculum through music and melody, with a counted rhythm to the beat we are attacking. Listening to our favorite songs is a good way to learn how to play an instrument, it gives a familiar count and sound that we can connect to! Music is simple but fun so our sessions will always revolve around repetitive lessons ,BPM , counting, rhythm, and listening to many many songs and playing them!

I have hand drums and have studied Congolese and African drumming. I love world music.

Percussion instruments are great! The percussion section has many unique instruments you can learn. I am so excited to teach you more about the percussion instruments. I am an interactive teacher who can assist you in many ways in regards to learning how to play the percussive instruments including; correct posture, new breathing techniques, correct fingerings, alternative fingerings, half-hole technique, improved sight-reading skills, greater music theory knowledge, and performance skills.
