I have been teaching private lessons now for over two years. I specialize in teaching children and teens and am a student favorite at Take Lessons with a collection of wonderful reviews from students and their parents. I am a very thorough and patient teacher. However, I expect a MINIMUM of three days a week of practice from all of my students at a length of time equal to lesson length. Without adequate practice, the student cannot flourish in fine-tuning their skills and could ultimately end up disappointed. This is completely avoidable with diligent practice.
For my younger students (ages 6-11) I utilize the Little Singers series of text written by Gregory Blankenbehler. For ages 12 and up, I utilize The Contemporary Singer: Elements of Vocal Technique written by Anne Peckham, one of my most influential Berklee professors. In addition to these texts I incorporate the use of the Vaccai: the Practical Method of Italian Singing as well as many various traditional, jazz, pop, and r&b ...

With each individual student, I have 4 objectives:
1. Learn what the student's musical goals are
2. Set tangible actions to obtain goals
3. Give real feedback and track progress
4. Create opportunities for student to dream bigger

I will help you discover your best voice in a fun and healthy way! You do not need to have a musical background, all levels of experience are welcome! You will learn vocal technique that protects and strengthens your voice so that you can approach new songs with confidence and freedom! Students will also learn basic music theory and gain a better understanding of reading music.

Mary Elizabeth D is a New York City based musical theater actress and honor graduate from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Musical Theater. She has 10 years of performance and vocal technique training and was most recently seen as Philia in Pittsburgh Public Theater’s production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Miss D has performed in leading roles in twelve productions and toured nationally. Some favorite roles include Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Cosette in Les Miserable, Luisa in The Fantasticks, and Cinderella in Into the Woods.

I am an experienced working musician and over the last 16 years have done it all from touring, recording, writing songs and releasing an album through a label and would love to help you reach your goals whether it be playing your first open mic or preparing to record in a studio. I currently teach at Musicians Institute in Hollywood and have 7 years teaching experience under my belt and would love to impart the things I have learned the hard way so you won't have to!

My name is Anastasiia and I am a Russian mezzo-soprano pursuing a masters degree at the Curtis Institute of Music.
I believe that everyone has the ability to discover the full potential of their voice. I will teach you the foundations of vocal technique to achieve full freedom of your sound to get the most natural vibration and color of your personal voice. We will focus on exercises that will prioritize and preserve the health of your voice through core training, breath exercises and vowel placement.Let’s build you a healthy instrument so you can enjoy singing as much as I do!

With beginners I will also focus on ear training and ways to learn music more efficiently.
