Valerie B. Wilmington, DE

About Valerie

Hi there! My name is Valerie. I'm a certified music teacher that loves to see a person grow in their love and ability for music. With 17 years of teaching privately, experience teaching publicly in elementary school music classrooms, enjoying several years as a Kindermusik (preschool music) teacher, and a school year teaching with VSA arts of Delaware (teaching music to those with disabilities), I find it thrilling to see a person of any age & background grow and blossom in their passion for music! Though I enjoy and have experience at teaching all ages from children to adults, I specialize in CHILDREN'S MUSIC EDUCATION (ages 5-12). I would describe myself as an elementary school music teacher that teaches privately. ;) My studio is filled with many smiles, stickers for every ...

We chose Valerie because of her experience with kids. She made my daughter feel at ease immediately, connecting with her through humor, easy-to-understand communication and praise. In just three lessons, I can already see the difference in my daughter's voice. We are happy to have found Valerie!

Sam's Dad

Valerie is excellent with Samantha. She tries to keep Sam on track during lessons and makes them fun for Sammy. Valerie did a spectacular job in a couple weeks prepairing Samantha for an audition to Cab Callaway. Samatha went into and performed very well at the audition, THANKS VALERIE!!! Valerie has been excellent with both her vocal and piano teachings and we would highly recommend Valerie.

Karen S. Wilmington, DE

About Karen

I hold a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Misericordia University in Dallas, PA. I have studied piano with Gisa Adler at New School of Music in Philadelphia, PA. I taught public school in the Conestoga Valley School District in Lancaster County, PA and I have taught private piano for over ten years. I love music and I love teaching - seeing my students progress and reach their goals. I believe music should be a pleasant experience and a demanding and ill - spirited teacher can ruin a student. I am NOT one of these. You will find me patient and supportive. *** Lesson Details *** To be an accomplished pianist you must learn all the basics well. These include music symbology which enables you to read music so you can translate it into the sound on the piano. In order to ...

I began violin lessons at age five, and was requested by the youth conductor to join the Palm Beach Youth Symphony a year later. For eight consecutive years, I performed with many other youth orchestras and served as concert mistress several times. In addition to the Venice Symphony, I have also performed with the Sarasota Pops for two seasons, The South Shore Symphony Orchestra as assistant concert mistress and as concert mistress, and Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus and Orchestra. Recently, I relocated to the South Philly and am now performing with the Delaware County Symphony ...

My nine year old daughter enjoys her lessons with Miss Reynolds. She said today, "The violin lesson is so fun." The Skype method through Take Lessons makes violin possible again-flexible, affordable and available. Miss Reynolds know how to guide us (example if the violin goes out of tune) and teach my daughter just at her level and keep her challenged just right. Perfect!

I had my reservations of having my 9 yo daughter learn violin online, but the experience has been wonderful. Elicia is very knowledgeable, patient and encouraging. She is able to get across what is needed with ease. My daughter is excited to have her lessons and also practice daily.
