Narberth, PA

Through the lessons I help students on understanding the fundamentals of music theory, creating an ideal sound, musical expression and coordination.
Every student is different. I work with students individually and use different approaches for each one of them. Such as methods, repertoire and lesson skills.
But most important of all, I always make sure that my student does not loose interest and have fun making music!

About Yeseul

Graduate of Violin Performance Master degree at
Yale University and String Pedagogy Master degree at Temple University, I love both teaching and playing.
I'm one of the faculties at Symphony in C Youth Orchestra and St. Malachy School where I work with many different ages and levels of students.
I've had my private studio for many years teaching kids from age 4 to adults.
I'm also an active orchestral player where I'm a member of the Virginia Symphony, Allentown Symphony, Symphony in C and New Jersey Capital Philharmonic.
I believe it's very important for the teacher to have both exper
ience in performing and teaching in order to fully understand and help the students.

Nicole F.

North East, MD

I use a variety of different teaching skills and books for students. I believe that every student has a different way of learning. For a basis I use-
Beginner- Sarah Pope's A new tune a day, with Suzuki pieces
Intermediate- I assign a scale book, an etude book, a positions book, and a solo piece related to techniques we are learning.

About Nicole

Hello!

I have just finished my bachelor degree focusing in violin performance and violin/viola pedagogy (the art of private teaching) at Colorado State University. What is unique to my training is my pedagogy degree, where professors analyzed my teaching to help me perfect it.
I will be attending the University of Delaware this fall for my masters in violin performance and will be teaching in between Newark Delaware and North East Maryland, where I currently live. Currently I am very flexible with schedules and have a teaching location in North East, MD, or I can drive to your location.
I am accepting students who are looking for a permanent teacher OR who are looking to advance during the summer for the next school year.

Looking forward to meeting you!

I would highly recommend Joshua as a viola teacher. My 13 year old son has been taking viola lessons with him for 2 months and I can already hear an improvement in his playing as well as see a marked improvement in his bow hold and body alignment. My son had previously taken private lessons with another teacher for about a year, but Joshua is really helping him to focus on proper technique. Joshua is a very professional, affable and patient teacher.

I highly recommend Joshua for violin or viola study. Joshua maintains high standards for his students but is patient and professional at all times. His communication style is friendly and down to earth. I have learned a great deal from Joshua about how to approach violin exercises and, most importantly, the reasons behind the exercises!
