Exceptionally thorough teacher

Robert is exceptionally thorough and starts from the fundamentals of classical guitar playing. I was an intermediate acoustic/electric guitar player but a beginner classical guitarist, so he started with correcting my right hand technique.

He is very light-hearted, funny and a cheerful teacher. Although classical guitar playing is intense, he allows me to learn at a comfortable pace and provides helpful resources (music sheets) to practice and improve.

I would highly recommend Robert if you are looking for a classical guitar teacher.

GO FOR IT and make an appointment right now!!!

I was one of Roberts first students in the 80´s. I stopped playing the guitar long time ago but I always think back to Roberts classes with a warm heart and a smile. These were good times! I learnt a lot and sure we had a lot of fun as well. It is great to see how Robert developed over the years. As a truly dedicated musician he is continuously refining his skills (while I thought he was exceptional already). Students from all levels and walk of life will benefit greatly from his allround knowledge and experience.

Outstanding classical guitar teacher

As an adult student who is very busy but still loves to play, I appreciate that Robert's wide repertoire and experience helps to make the best use of my time by targetting appropriate instructional pieces. He is a highly skilled, enthusiastic, and patient teacher.
Laura Z. Brighton, MA

About Laura

*** Travel Equipment *** Students should be able to provide a piano/keyboard *** Specialties *** I have performed in a large variety of vocal genres from rock to opera and am comfortable teaching all ages, levels, and styles. In my lessons I focus on proper breath support, and vocal placement within the mouth and nasal cavity. As a result of my classical training, my basic style of teaching is steeped in the bel canto aesthetic. However, I believe in and use kinesthetic techniques to help students more easily discover this proper approach.

About Alaina

ABOUT ME I began taking both voice and piano lessons at the age of 11, after years of sitting outside my older sisters' clarinet lessons and wishing to study music, myself. I fell in love with music at my very first lesson, and knew that it was what I would do with my life. I went on to attend New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where I received my Bachelor of Music in vocal performance, and then onto Longy School of Music of Bard College, where I am currently working on my Masters in vocal performance and continuing piano as a secondary instrument. I am the co-owner of The Creative Musician and have experience teaching piano students ranging from 4-year-old beginners to experienced adults and voice students ranging from novices to conservatory-bound high-school seniors. Great insight!

Alaina was such a great teacher! She was my teacher my senior year of high school and was really helpful. She picked out pieces that really showed off my voice and helped me get in to a good music school. Now that I am in college, Alaina has because a great friend and mentor to me! I am really lucky to have found her as a teacher. :)

About Aaron

I've been a full time professional musician for 13+ years and have toured all over the world performing with music icons like Chacka Khan, Beyonce, and many more. I have a lot of experience with many different styles of music and I love sharing this gift with anyone who's interested. My teaching philosophy is simple: Get students playing music! It's much easier to understand the nuts and bolts of music when put into the context of the music you like. *** Lesson Details *** I like to design a lesson plan for each individual student. The first lesson will begin with a basic assessment of skill level. We will discuss goals for the lessons then get down to work! Students will learn: 1 Technique. the proper physicality to increase dexterity and avoid injury. 2 Music theory and ...

Aaron’s has been such a great teacher for my son – he is encouraging, optimistic, and a great listener. Aaron has been perceptive about what motivates Jasper and so he has found a great mix for each lesson of theory, technique, and fun exploration of new music concepts. He has adapted his style for where my son is on his learning journey so that he’s always moving forward and enjoying both practice and lesson time. From after the first day with Aaron he has always looked forward to going to his lessons. Since Aaron is an experienced and active professional musician, he shares what he knows is most important, practically and technically, across many music genres, and this suits my son’s curious nature. We feel really lucky to have found Aaron – he’s been positive, interesting, professional, friendly, and challenging. What else could you want in a teacher?

good all-around teacher

Aaron is a positive and inspiring instructor. He is very competent on the instrument (and I believe he is well versed in more than just bass guitar) and is a working musician. In my lessons he has attempted to guide me into territory I was unfamiliar with in a way that I can understand. Sometimes that has not been so easy, as with Modes, but he is willing to modify the lessons according to what I have wanted to learn and how easily I can absorb it. If there's something I'm not grasping, he tries to explain it in a different manner and with a little effort on my part, I can comprehend it. He definitely wants his students to learn and have fun, while also making it challenging.

About Mary-Alexandra

I've been studying voice since I was about 14 years. I grew up doing Musical Theatre, Jazz, Choir-both church and school. I started to fall in love with opera when I was about 16 years and have not looked back. I received my masters degree in voice performance and a post masters degree in Opera Studies from The New England Conservatory of Music. During my time in school I have had the chance to perform both in the United States and throughout Europe in many different performance settings including choral, recitals, and operas. I have also been teaching a wide age range of students through out my masters and post masters degree. I have a long ...

What a wonderful teacher!

Mary always made me feel comfortable singing. Since I was a beginner, she gave me a lot of exercises to do outside our lessons to continue to strengthen my voice. In the few lessons we had, she gave me a lot to think about and I definitely learned a lot. I'm already a lot more confident with my voice and, using what she taught me, I know my voice will keep growing!
Sean P. Brighton, MA

About sean

I am a Berklee College of Music Alum with an emphasis in trumpet performance. I play Guitar, Piano, and Sing in my own projects. As an instructor, I provide a unique view point on performing music through an experiential atmosphere. Music is an expressive language and in order to understand it, there are very systematic and simple ways to do so. Theory, harmony, performance, and practice are all facets that stem from a very common point. Interest. It is important for the student to be learning music that they are interested in, not music that is " best to learn from". If given the right keys, a student can learn a piece without having a teacher shepherd them through it. This means a student learns how to hear what they like from a song. Not what theoretically makes up the song. ...

Sean is patient, skilled and diligent. We are very pleased with his teaching so far. One of my sons is taking piano and the other guitar and both of them love taking lessons with Sean. He really adapts each lesson to the individual child's interests and skill level. I would highly recommend him.
