I have been teaching music theory for fifteen years in my private studios and in classrooms.

I focus on beginning theory from note reading and rhythm recognition through to the ABRSM theory exams.

I also teach and tutor theory from the Laitz and Kastka Payne theory textbooks.

My desire is to help people understand music theory in an easy and fun way.

I've been studying music theory since I was 5 years old.

Music theory is a very dense subject that I can break down into easy-to-remember pieces that will help students understand why theory matters, and how to use it to enhance their music.

I have been teaching music theory in the context of piano lessons for many years, and I completed the advanced level Certificate of Merit Exam, which includes theory, in 2003. Sessions will include homework help, concept understanding and review, preparing for tests, and practical applications as needed.
