I have always loved singing! I sang everywhere I went, was in the choir at church and even lead our worship team during Sunday mornings. I have continued to sing and it has helped me with my other instrumental playing. I play the piano which helps with the accompaniment of singers. I have had a few singing students and we have had nothing short of a good time together! We will learn music together and have you singing your favorite songs like a champ in no time!
About Beckie

When I first begin teaching a student, I tell them that everyone has the ability to sing well no matter his or her experience. I also tell them that there are four things that a good singer must have: breathe control (air is your fuel, and must be used efficiently and effectively to give you the best sound), posture (in order to have access to your air and prevent vocal damage you must practice good posture habits), diction (how you pronounce words when singing can impede or improve vocal tone, as well as help or hinder the audience in understanding the lyrics) and finally and most importantly, passion. Passion is how emotionally connected you are to music and is what really allows the singer to connect with his or her audience.

Linda"

I've known and performed with JoAnn for over 20 years. She's a great musician - always well prepared and enthusiastic. I've enjoyed working with her. Her fresh ideas help enliven our music."

I came to Erin after several years away from singing, and she got me right back up to speed quickly and completely--better than ever, in fact!
We've worked on pieces that I've always wanted to work on, but she has also exposed me to all kinds of music that I hadn't known, and each piece has been exciting, challenging, and rewarding to sing.
Erin has always been completely reliable and professional, and an expert communicator. The few times she's ever given me feedback or instructions that I didn't understand immediately, she was able to communicate the idea in another way, and she's always completely open to questions. She's really just completely comfortable to talk to. Even when I struggled in her lessons from time to time, I never once felt frustrated or discouraged, and always came out on top.
Working with Erin, my technique, artistry, and confidence have all soared, and each lesson has been a joy. Erin is as knowledgeable as she is talented, and simply a delightful human being.
I'd give her three thumbs up if I had an extra hand!"

There are so many tips for singers out there -- but did you know some of them may not be actually true? Here, Ann Arbor, MI voice teacher Elaina R. dispels some of the common myths about singing... “It’s bad luck to say ‘Good Luck’ before a performance.” “Don’t eat chocolate! It clogs your vocal cords.” “A bad dress rehearsal leads to a good show.” We singers toss around myths more than most. It’s important, however, to recognize which ones are just for fun …
