I am an emotive cellist with two decades experience. I have toured internationally performing my original works including London, Paris, and Berlin. As a member of the Pierce Quartet I regularly arrange and perform music for weddings and other special occasions. I love sharing classical music with all levels of students. Lessons with me are calm, meditative experiences where we use peaceful techniques to enter into the heart of music.
About Lenna
Hello musicians! My name is Lenna and I am pleased to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2011 and have loved helping my students improve their tone, learn better sight reading skills, and become more relaxed in performance. I have toured the world as a singer songwriter and before t

Lenna was the most patient, understanding and fun teacher I could have asked for. She understood what I needed and got me from barely able to hold the bow to playing Rigoletto in front of a small audience in 6 months! THAT is no small feat. She loves playing, she loves teaching and she understands the human condition. A very good combination indeed. I highly recommend you hire her as your cello teacher, or your child's cello teacher, or your next door neighbor's cello teacher.

I have over 6 years of experience teaching private lessons in addition to teaching seminars on songwriting and music business at Infinity Visual and Performing Arts and SUNY JCC.
I teach both online and in-person lessons at my studio in Nashville and offer 30 and 60 minute lessons.
I have played over 1,000 shows, both solo and as an auxiliary musician for other touring acts. I performed on over 30 albums and have composed for radio, television, and internet video series, including sharing the stage with members of the 10,000 Maniacs. I've been featured in The New York Times, on the CBS Evening News, and on NPR.
While each student is different, I do generally start everyone on either Suzuki or the Essential Elements books.
As one of my old teachers said, “I'm not teaching you how to play cello, I'm teaching you how to teach yourself how to play cello.” This is something I strive for. Students will not only learn technical skills( how to play their instrument, read ...

First and foremost, it is so important for me to get to know you and your musical interests (favorite songs, artists or bands). Once I know a little bit more about you and where your musical interests are, I help you build goals based on what you’d like to accomplish...that could be anything from “just wanting to learn something new and to have fun” to “playing my sister’s favorite song at her wedding in 3 months” or “to join an orchestra and make it my professional goal”. My style of teaching over the last 25 years incorporates technique, reading music, ear training, and improvisation. In addition to the violin, I teach viola, cello and piano/keyboard. The genres I love to teach are classical, rock, pop, jazz, film/tv music, and fiddle!

She not only got him playing, but instilled a love of music and of composition. Nancy was also incredibly supportive and encouraging as my son transitioned and has a special place in our hearts
She creates new and different classes - group , and mash up with different musicians and instruments.
She seems to get the best from all her students.

Classical cellist for over 10 years, experienced in teaching for 2 years from beginner to advanced levels. Specialized in solo cello works, chamber music, orchestra, opera, etc. I will have my own lesson curriculum and repertoires adjusted to my students depending on their levels, and interest in music. Pursuing a career in music is a risky decision, because by the nature of the industry few artists can “make it big.” Most artists aren’t pop stars, or even full-time career musicians, and all musicians also teach to remedy this. There are many paths to becoming a professional cello player, and depending on where you start it might be easy or hard to earn a reputation and start making money. I followed an academic path, studying classical music at university and then continuing my research …
