LOVE MUSIC? PLAY IT!
I am a former classroom music teacher, with an MA in Music Education, and I have been a working musician/recording artist for 30 years. I am patient and experienced in getting results. I believe the recipe for music education is Knowledge, Practice, and Fun = Joy. Spreading joy is a valuable service for good community.

I can help every student achieve his or her goals, whether it's to lead a campfire circle or play Carnegie Hall someday. (One of my students opened for B.B. King, and most of my students will play music for the rest of their lives. Some have grown to lead their own bands.)
I offer lessons in:
Guitar: All styles: Beginner to Advanced.
Piano, voice, ukulele, saxophone, and recording: Beginner to Intermediate.

About San

I have played music since I was able to sit at a piano at age 5. I began guitar at age 9 and wrote my first song shortly after that. My first real gig was at age 23 for three years in a specialty 1950's Rock and Roll band. I went on to record a CD as a solo artist in 1996, and was the leader of

I played the Flute in high school and have not played music since. San is the director of music at the RV park my husband and I currently reside (snowbirds). The park has a band composed of residents and San is the director. I have enjoyed listening to the band play for the park residents so much and Sans offered classes to park residents so I have always wanted to learn guitar so I signed up for classes.

San has made classes enjoyable and challenging. She always gives me something to strive for, gears the lessons to my knowledge/ability and keeps me interested and wanting to learn more. I highly recommend Sans as an instructor. She will not disappoint!

I first got into guitar as an adult, with no prior musical experience. I took lessons with San for several years, and she was great. Always willing to work with me on things I wanted to explore and also good at pushing me in directions I hadn't thought of to help me get where I wanted to go.
Sean
San taught me to play guitar back when I was a kid, and the knowledge and skills I learned from her have since followed me through to adulthood and my career in audio engineering. She's a very talented musician and gifted instructor, I highly recommend her instruction.

"I'm three lessons deep into the ukulele and I'm really satisfied with Ryan. We've met once in person and twice online; I've had some health issues and he has been really accomodating switching this up for me. He's easy going and takes his time expaining history, theory, and taking it step by step while remaining encouraging and giving honest feedback. He wastes no time and you really get the most out of your lesson. I look forward to continuing on with Ryan. As a teacher and performer myself, I appreciate that he gets down to the business of doing the work but is just very nice as well!"
