I teach violin and viola lessons to students of all ages (including adults!) and skill levels. Lessons will be catered to you, whether you want to start from the beginning with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or have a tune from the radio you've been wanting to learn. I believe learning to play an instrument is more than just learning notes and rhythms-- it's about developing yourself in all aspects of life. Here you can develop life skills including curiosity, dedication, responsibility, patience and so much more, all while having fun and enjoying yourself at the same time.

I've been teaching violin for over 25 years and my students have gone on to play in youth orchestras, attend PMEA and ASTA events or go to college as a music major. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to improve your playing skills and as time goes on you'll be able to play at a more advanced level. I specialize in Traditional Classical violin, typically use Essential Elements 2000, Samuel Applebaum methods, Suzuki methods and traditional scales and etude books. I have the following tools available for your lessons: Metronome, Tuner, rosin and my music library. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

I have been playing the violin for 18 years and teaching for 10 years. My curriculum includes a heavy emphasis on sound quality and correct, relaxed technique, followed by musicality and a well rounded music education. My goal is for students to be well versed not only in how to play violin, but also be knowledgeable in music history and theory. I believe that students should enjoy their music lessons while utilizing their individual learning style.

Unlike many instructors who simply use the same cookie-cutter method in their teaching, I believe in adapting to each individual student for consistent progress. By meeting them "where they are," focusing on their learning style, and developing a systematic approach to fixing bad habits and eliminating weaknesses in their playing, every single one of my students achieves musical growth, command of the instrument, and an overarching love of music.

My two decades of professional experience both as performer and instructor allows me to draw on multiple methods, exercises, and repertoire that will help you develop your full potential while always enjoying your musical journey.

Being able to create music is an integral part of the human condition as it helps us express and understand an exceedingly wide range of human emotion. Teaching how to do it has therefore always been my greatest passion and having been privileged with the guidance of great pedagogues in the past, it is my ambition to pass that invaluable knowledge and skill on to aspiring musicians. I am certain that every person (no matter what age) has vast potential and it is my duty as a teacher to extract those talents and nurture creativity. Guiding students to find a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationship to music will encourage them to not only be exceptional artists, but also human beings. I have been teaching violin for 3 years. Due to COVID, I switched to Zoom lessons this year, and it has been surprisingly awesome! Anything I teach in person translates to Zoom, and this makes learning the violin more accessible than ever.

I teach using the Suzuki Method and See Saw exercise books. I love to teach students of any age - adults and kids. For younger students, I recommend a parent be present to help with lesson setup and note-taking. You're welcome to sit in on the whole lesson or just the first and last 5 minutes or so.

Also, I love introducing students to alternative styles of violin. Want to learn how to play in a rock band? I can help! Want to play by ear and jam? We can do that too!

No matter your end goal, we'll work on posture and playing technique to help you achieve a beautiful sound and comfortable playing. We'll also work on basic music theory and note-reading.
