I have been playing drums for over 30 years. I have toured with bands, recorded albums and played with many different musicians. I have also learned to play other instruments such as guitar and piano. And I have found great amazement and wonder while continuously learning on this musical journey. I can give a wide perspective, not just from the drum throne. Drumming can be a very special part of your life. It does not have to be a career, but can be an amazing way to express yourself and learn about the world through many different rhythms and patterns. Music can be very formal, but there's also a lot of room for everyone to learn about improvisation and self expression.

I'm an experienced drum teacher and my main focus is to find out what your goals are and help you achieve them! Lesson with me are tailored to your specific needs in a fun and always musical way. You'll learn rudiments, technique, and reading while playing along to your favorite songs.

Personalized Lessons Based On What YOU Want To Play! We will look at the fundamentals needed to get you to be the drummer and musician you want to become. Everything from rudiments, coordination, dynamics, different styles and genres, picking up drum parts by ear and letting your inner musical imagination speak through the drum set will be the focus of my teaching. I also specialize in band dynamics such as rehearsing, performing, organizing and getting a band together. We'll learn a lot and most of all, we'll have a ton of fun doing it!

I believe that an encouraged student is a successful student! I have been teaching students of all ages and abilities for over 20 years, and believe that anyone can have FUN learning to play the drums. As a teacher, I can give you the tools, technique, and confidence to achieve your drumming goals, whatever they might be. Whether you're just starting out or picking drums up again after a hiatus, I will work with you to create a customized curriculum to help you unlock your full potential. Drums are one of the most fun instruments to learn, and I am adept at performing and teaching all styles, from rock to jazz to everything in between.

I have played as a substitute drummer in the orchestra of the Off-Broadway show "Jersey Boys," and have also backed up Adam Pascal ("RENT," "Aida"), Christine Ohlman (vocalist for the Saturday Night Live Band), and Carolee Carmello ("The Addams Family," "Mamma Mia!"). I started playing drum-set professionally as a freshmen in high school and have never stopped. It was my first true love, and my way into my own musical voice. I also sing while performing drums, so if that's something you're interested in getting better at I have plenty of experience to help you lead from behind the set.
