Drum Lessons in Bennington. Amazing Teachers.

I began learning the drums 20 years ago, and have spent the last 12 years sharing that knowledge with students. I’ve taught students from ages 7 - 50 +, all with various sets and and goals. Over the last 10 years, I've been fortunate to travel with world with various rock bands, and have learned from many experienced live players. My goal is to teach you the fundamentals of the instrument, while demonstrating how those fundamentals work in a real musical way.

Michael works with a wide variety of students from ages 5 and older. Michael specializes in beginner and intermediate students.

At the first lesson, the student can expect a wide variety of questions to give Michael a feel of their interests, desires and goals with playing drums. Students will be asked what kind of music they want to play and encouraged to always guide Michael to learning what they like.

Students can expect to learn rudiments, proper technique, reading rhythms and learning the songs they like.

Experienced teacher and performer. I teach at the college level all the way down to youngsters (5 year old minimum age for me). I LOVE music and playing the drums and I'd like to share my experience with YOU!

As a performer I've toured the country multiple times with various artists, sometimes playing to crowds as large as 7,000. I've been on dozens of recording sessions and I've performed in just about anything type of venue you can imagine.

As a teacher I've maintained a roster of private students for over 10 years while also teaching as adjunct faculty for multiple colleges in Massachusetts. Additionally, I have a music therapy background which has shaped and informed my teaching style.

My favorite genres are jazz, rock, R&B, country, metal, basically anything with rhythm! Lets connect and get you moving forward on your instrument.

Having performed jazz, funk, rock, pop, and blues, among other genres, I use the fluidity between these inform each of my lessons. Whether a student is a beginner looking to play their favorite song on the radio, an intermediate looking for some rhythm theory to give them more options in their playing, or an advanced player looking for improvisatory techniques, I tailor each session to the desires of each student and their learning style.

Experienced teach of 15 years! I love to teach everything from basics to advanced drum. I love teaching favorite songs, drum fills, various styles, and how to function in a band setting. I've continued my professional career as a drummer and have great tips and insights on how you can become like the great drummers you love! From jazz to pop to rock and blues we will work on it all!
