I teach all forms of literacy including listening, speaking, writing, and reading English. I teach grammar, phonics, word recognition and comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, and effective, expressive, and creative writing skills. I have been an avid reader and writer ever since my elementary school days. At college, I received a perfect score on my departmental English exam. I have three education degrees: A double bachelor's in elementary education and music, and a master's in reading. I am presently a Mesa Laubach Literacy Council Board Member and Tutor. I love to help students become more proficient in the English language.

Many of the classes that I taught during my first two years as a teacher were physical science classes. When I transferred schools in the middle of the 2019 - 2020 school year, I began solely teaching 8th-grade physical science classes.
The concepts presented in this class are more or less the same regardless if one takes the class as a middle or high school student. I have the entire Florida curriculum for physical science. I also have a teacher's edition at my home.
I don't only know all of the concepts, but I know the order in which they are presented, which is especially helpful for students looking to get ahead.
I know I would be of great assistance to anyone in need of help with physical science.
While I tutor for a rather wide array of subjects, I truly specialize in SAT prep. I have been helping students meet and exceed their goals on the SAT since 2012, developing personalized plans for each student. Over the last few years, I have gradually gained enough experience and materials to beco

If you've been muddling along with the Krebs cycle or the circulatory system has you hitting your head against the wall, I've got your back! Focused but encouraging, enthusiastic but personable, I've patiently helped my students reach that "light-bulb moment" countless times.
Guiding someone to understanding a concept they struggle with is of course a major part of tutoring, but I'm also really big on coaching students to be methodical and have a system. Content knowledge is only part of the puzzle; problem-solving skills are crucial. Check out my testimonials to hear from my students themselves on that!
I went to Princeton University and majored in molecular biology. I was high school salutatorian (2nd in a class of 500+) and completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. I've been tutoring continuously since high school, as both a private tutor and a volunteer, in subjects all across

Jessie, tutors my 14 y/o daughter in algebra for more than a year now. She is professional, punctual, very positive and makes algebra fun (if that's possible). She reinforces what Grace has done well and reviews how she can do better. I highly recommend Jessie!"
Thank you so much for your passion in teaching. My daughter is a big fan of Math now! Have a nice day, Catherine"
Tamar is quite simply a gem. She has been working with me for the past year and has helped me completely transform my academic situation. I am a freshman in high school who struggles with ADHD. Tamar's patience and diligence in working with me is completely unsurpassed. She goes above and beyond to ensure that I not only do my work, but she breaks down the material in such a way that it caters to my unique learning needs. Tamar puts in hours of her own time, beyond active lesson time, to create tests and study guides which help give me the extra advantage I need. Tamar has been an absolute joy to work with and I would strongly recommend her to anyone. She is by far one of the most impressive tutors and individuals I have ever had the pleasure of working with."
