I am a professor of percussion at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
I can teach all styles but prefer jazz. I think the most important thing to learn is keeping good time and staying in the pocket. I have two books published: "The Art of Drumming" and "Deeper Into The Art of Drumming" endorsed by Elvin Jones, Jack DeJohnette, and Roy Haynes. The object of the lesson is to get you out there playing gigs and earning money. Go to kaufmansartofdrumming.com to get more information.

Want to learn to play drums or get your drum chops even better? I can help! Ever since I started drumming at 10 years old, I fell in love. I've toured the country in multiple pop/ rock acts as the drummer and have tracked on countless albums. Come get better at drums at the beautiful Four Horsemen Studios with Justin.

About Justin

Hi! I’m Justin L. and I love to drum, play guitar, piano and write songs. For more than 15 years I’ve been honing my craft of musicianship, studying with the best music instructors and performing across the United States. If you (or your child) is looking for help playing guitar, drums, piano or

My experience as an electric guitar student of Justin's is nothing short of perfect for what I was looking for. Justin has a great studio with everything you'd need and is very focused on ensuring he's helping me learn what I want, not some standard, boring, antiquated way of teaching. He's got a TON of accomplishments under his belt (music and otherwise, he is also an actor!) from which to draw experience from and share with students. Very professional, personable and contemporary - IMO a perfect teacher and I'd recommend him to anyone looking for lessons!

Justin is an excellent vocal and music teacher overall, he's a friendly person and is very professional.

Highly recommend him!

Experienced teacher and performer. I teach at the college level all the way down to youngsters (5 year old minimum age for me). I LOVE music and playing the drums and I'd like to share my experience with YOU!

As a performer I've toured the country multiple times with various artists, sometimes playing to crowds as large as 7,000. I've been on dozens of recording sessions and I've performed in just about anything type of venue you can imagine.

As a teacher I've maintained a roster of private students for over 10 years while also teaching as adjunct faculty for multiple colleges in Massachusetts. Additionally, I have a music therapy background which has shaped and informed my teaching style.

My favorite genres are jazz, rock, R&B, country, metal, basically anything with rhythm! Lets connect and get you moving forward on your instrument.

About Patrick

A strongly devoted musical student throughout his grade school years, Patrick came to Boston in 2004 to study at Berklee College of Music. He is currently a multi-instrumentalist and music educator in the Boston area, touring with multiple New England groups. With a diverse background and teaching

I have a 100% rate of getting my students into their school of choice as of yet. Although I don't guarantee it, I will work relentlessly to make sure you are well prepared though. I will also lend you PDFs of books to help you save a buck.

About Scott

I have been playing drums and percussion since the ripe old age of 9, in 4th grade. Originally wanting to play the clarinet, my music teacher thought my sense of rhythm was too good to waste and placed me in the drum section. I was the only kid who didn't want to play drums. Over twenty years later

Scott is inspiring, motivating, caring, attentive, personal and professional. In only a few weeks my daughter is developing a solid foundation in technique, rhythmic notation and musicianship. I would strongly reccommend him.

"As a piano teacher, I am amazed at the progress my 16 y.o. son has made in one year of lessons with Mike. Mike definitely has a talent for reaching his students in fun and creative ways, and does a great job at teaching to each student as an individual. I've seen him interact with other students, and you can just tell he loves what he does and sincerely cares about his students. My husband has also sat in on a lesson and saw how Mike has a gift as a drummer as well as a teacher. We look forward to the next level he will take our son as a drummer and musician.

I highly recommend him as a teacher to any age student. His curriculum is solid and he keeps it fun and engaging. You won't be disappointed!"
