Learn your way with an instructor who puts student needs first. I have a Doctor of Music Arts degree in Saxophone Performance and 6 years of teaching experience working with beginners in 5th/6th grade through college music majors. As a performer, I play classical recitals, big band swing dance gigs, festivals, and more. As a teacher, I focus on what the student wants to learn - anything from basic foundation skills; scales and technique; theory; improvisation; and relevant repertoire. I place an emphasis on relaxation and removal of tension from the body which will dramatically improve the student's playing abilities.

About Dr. Nick

Hello! If you would like to learn music, challenge your abilities, and express yourself by connecting with your inner artist, I can be your guide. If you want to get over the anxiety of playing music in front of others, I can help you transform that tension into confidence. Dr. Nick S. is a native

Nick is very knowledgeable and proficient on saxophone, and a dedicated and patient teacher. No matter your level, there’s always more to learn, and I highly recommend Nick for your private instruction.
Eric
Nick Stow! I learned a great deal from his private lessons. He understands how to gradually work into good and exceptional habits for practicing as well as performing. I only wish to have had more of an opportunity to perform with and learn from these lessons. As I said, it takes time and patience to come to the skill level Nick is at, but he'll work with you to grow a level you can start to excel at.
Sid
I have been playing the saxophone for over 50 years without a long term period between active playing. Nick has been very effective in my playing ability and I have learned a great deal from him.

My two basic goals at the core of my teaching philosophy:
To help the students develop the skills on the trumpet, through technical and physical development, with the long-range goal of developing a student’s ability to successfully pursue a career of teaching and/or performing if that is their choice.
To help bring his or her soul into each performance on the trumpet, and to help the student learn to tell a story, paint a picture, and create a mood – the language of the music.

About Dr. Arthur

Arthur as a professional trumpet player is a skilled musician in classical, commercial, and jazz idioms and has been one of L.A.’s and New York's first call trumpeters for commercial recordings, television and motion pictures, and live theater. He has contributed to albums for many popular artists,

Because the lessons are in our home, it’s been a very relaxed, enjoyable experience for our son and that was important to us. His former teacher was great, but Dr. Pugh has pushed him to an entirely different place musically. Dr. Pugh’s professionalism and enthusiasm for music are inspiring and he has brought our son’s trumpet playing to another level.

My music is highly eloquent and lyrical. If you are looking for base level pop music, I will not be much use. But, if you are looking to write songs which paint vivid stories, inspire deep emotions, and musically intrigue, then I promise you I can assist. The genres I teach are Folk, Country, Singer-Songwriter, and Pop.
I've been songwriting for years now. I write daily, and sometimes more than that. I also perform a few exercises to ensure my lyrical skills are at their peak. I've done small songwriting jobs for producers (Writing Lyrics for them and recording a demo) and was also offered a single song publishing (songwriting) contract for Century Music Group.

About Daniel

I have been writing for years now. An arts school, with music classes specializing in songwriting and music theory, has led me to a professional level in the songwriting industry. I have been contracted to write multiple songs for producers, as well as a publishing (songwriting) contract with Centu

Guitar for Kids: 5 Best Childrens' Guitar Books

Guitar books can be a great help for kids who are interested in guitar lessons. Guitar teacher Matthew K. shares five of his favorite guitar books for younger students... The guitar is an instrument that has to be learned by doing. During my experience as a guitar teacher, I've found it essential to use a book for kids ages six to ten. Books can keep the student on track, but should not be the only teaching method used. It's important to keep lessons fun and interesting with songs and riffs t …
