I provide lessons to beginner-intermediate students who are interested in learning the proper singing technique for classical music, opera, and musical theatre. In lessons, I help the students build a solid technique, learn new repertoire, and prepare for upcoming auditions. I always incorporate basic ear-training, solfege, and sight-reading practice that will aid the singer in learning and understanding music. For students learning pieces in foreign languages, I will also introduce the student to IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) and help him or her to feel comfortable with diction in multiple languages.

About Sara
Hello, and welcome to my page! My philosophy for singing is that a truly great singer is versatile, and that the ideal voice is a flexible instrument that can handle a variety of genres and styles.

My personal training is primarily in classical, and I have a Master's degree in classical voice/opera from Boston Conservatory at Berklee. However, I also actively sing pop, musical theater, and even heavy metal!

Singing can be challenging, and while I work with the student intensely to diagnose and fix vocal issues, it is very important to me that the student feels happy and confident. I encourage students to express their creativity by singing in styles that they feel comfortable with, choosing their own songs, and even adding their own riffs/runs/ornamentations.

I like to place a heavy focus on music theory and sight-singing (I
offer private lessons in these subjects separately as well); It is extremely important for young singers to be able to read the notes on the staff, to understand rhythm and key, and to find pitches on the piano.

I accept beginning-intermediate singers of all ages. I additionally offer music theory, sight-singing, and diction lessons as well as beginner/introductory piano.

After that I tried to get in touch to change the time of a class and she never got back to me. She seems very busy, can never answer the phone and hardly answers emails, am not feeling am getting any personal attention. Am switching to another more available teacher.

Kayla is very informative and descriptive about how the body works in producing sound. She not only showed technique but also gave some easy tips on how to improve. Best of all, I finally understand how a raspy sound can occur without damaging the voice! This is a thing I've found difficulty in finding online, in a way that does not damage your vocal cords. All in all, a fun teacher and I recommend her, especially if you like rock/metal as she seems to have a great knowledge of this form of vocals.

What an interesting animal is singing, no? This depends completely on you, the student. Where you come from musically, your influences, your goals, expectations, self image. All of these things affect how I react to you. I work with my students on a highly individualized level to truly tailor my knowledge to your needs. Proper technique is wonderful, theory is important, but sometimes its raw musicality that just needs nurtured.

About Kiyan
Hello, and thank you for reading!

My name is Kiyan, I am a classically, contemporarily and pop-music trained singer, music director, recording artist, composer, and teacher.

I have studied music of all genres very intensely, including everything from early Baroque technique, opera, musical theater (golden age to contemporary), gospel music, pop music, rock music, all the way to every single Beyoncé riff.

I am currently a full time recording artist and performer. Teaching is the best way to spend my free time. I LOVE having open minded people come to me so I can really show them how to get the best sound out of their bodies. To me, teaching is as much a spiritual, social and mental exercise as it is musical.

I can help you sound as good as you can. I've cured tone deafness countless times, and I have a strong theoretical bac
kground as a pianist for which to fill your brain with information. And we will have so much fun. :)

Cheers, and love!

About Krista
Hello!
My name is Krista Richards, I have been singing, song writing, recording, and performing as a professional singer for over 15 years. I have spent countless hours honing and refining my skills and abilities in all aspects of singing and music creation, and have had 12 international releases working with Grammy Nominated Producers (StoneBridge, Zhu, and others). I've performed on stages from LA, NYC, Miami, to Tokyo, Japan connecting with thousands of people through the art and craft of singing.
In 2007 I apprenticed under my mother Catherine, who has over 30 years of music education experience. Over the last 10 years I've continued to evolve and develop my private vocal coaching practice based on listening to the needs and desires of my amazing clients.
My clients range in age, gender, and musical background. From beginner students
that have never attempted singing before to professional musicians/songwriters looking for support in their careers and help with song writing or to get their voices in shape for recording projects or tours; brides and grooms take a handful of lessons in order to sing a special song at their wedding. I coach young adults who are preparing to audition for American Idol, The X-Factor, or a school musical. Many yogis and yoginis have sought my coaching in order to enhance their Kirtan experience. I also get a great deal of clients who aren't really singers in any capacity at all, but are looking to gain power with their voice and expression as it relates to their businesses; many entrepreneurs, business owners, speakers, and coaches have phenomenal results working with me to powerfully access their voices!
"I am so grateful for Krista in my life! Not only am I inspired by the way she lives her passion, speaks her truth, and shares her gifts, but I have also had the opportunity to learn from her as my voice teacher. During our first lesson she showed me how to access many different aspects to my vocal range that I never even knew existed. Then we rocked out to some amazing songs together and I got to experience right away the fruits of the practices that she shared. Instant results, and a whole lot of fun. This woman is one in a million." ~Maura Rassman
