Lia was an AMAZING meditation teacher! She was calm, patient and very 'Zen' for our entire lesson, which really helped me to relax and calm down myself. Her instructions were easy to follow and I was able to achieve a deep level of relaxation normally absent from my meditations! Using the skills and techniques I learned from Lia, I now have a much easier time getting into 'the zone' every time I sit down to meditate :) thanks Lia!

Really enjoyed my meditation lessons! I highly recommend.

I enjoyed my lesson with Lia very much. I am very happy with the artwork I was able to produce at the lesson. I would highly recommend Lia to any new student.

Although my focus as a TakeLessons teacher is primarily in music, I also teach a killer Calligraphy class. I do not take the fact that I am 'multi-talented' lightly. I know good calligraphy and I know mediocre calligraphy. Before getting more involved with music, I taught Calligraphy at a junior college for 7 years. I taught over 750 students and took classes from a student of Donald Jackson, one of the Scribes of the Queen of England. I can strengthen the work and techniques of intermediate or advanced calligraphers (and illuminators) and am very adept at teaching beginners. We can meet in my music studio or your home. I have a list of preferred materials and love this amazing communication form.

Want to learn to paint or draw your favorite scene or photo you took on your last vacation? Interested in learning how to creatively express your own artistic development through your favorite medium? I have been a practicing artist for 20+ years and I love seeing others progress with mediums they are personally interested in. Painting, drawing, photography and ceramic sculpture have been large focuses of my artistic career; coupling that with my love to educate others I'd enjoy the opportunity to talk to see if I could invest my time teaching you some of the skills and techniques I have learned from all around the world.

About Sheldon

I am an experienced artist that has traveled the world, learned from many teachers, observed, utilized tested techniques and have a mentality that I can always be learning. What a pleasure it was having Sheldon come in and teach our youth! We planned a night of creativity for our youth at our church and Sheldon kindly volunteered and provided materials for our teens to have an awesome experience. He gave expert advise and technique but also embraced everyone creative side. Hope to have another night with Sheldon as our teacher. Super fun night!!

I am a fine artist, and I am an art lover! I have taught art to kids and adults of all levels, and I have studied art for many years.
I love drawing and painting, going to museums, talking about art, and participating in group art shows. I draw and paint from life every day. I can help you to make your drawings more life-like, improve your color sense, or paint a scene that you picture in your imagination.

"I'm a believer in classical education so Kai was a perfect match as a teacher. Watching his demonstrations I visually register the method, and then the feedback I get on my drawings points me where I am lacking. I had all these ideas I wanted to draw/paint, but I couldn't form the correct shapes. I still have a long way to go to make those pieces but as van Gogh said "So that what used to seem to me to be desperately impossible is now gradually becoming possible". I guarantee you, learning realistic drawing will fuel your creativity even more.
Kai is an interactive teacher, so you will also hear many great stories and the names of many great artists that you can explore."

"Maggie is an amazing teacher. Both my kids love going to her class. My son was the first one to join and has been learning from her for little over an year. In my son's words, "Ms. Maggie is the most inspirational teacher who has increased their interest in art more than ever before." I knew my son had an artist within him but since he has been going to Maggie I see such a tremendous improvement in his work. I see him understanding the techniques and applying whatever he has learned in his different works. His progress motivated me to enroll my younger one too."
