About Stephanie
I am a career musician, and conservatory trained violin and piano instructor with over 25 years teaching experience, and a resume spanning many pages. (Please note: I only accept weekly lesson studen
ts, unless the lesson length is at least an hour. Also, due to my concert schedule, my schedule is not always up to date on Take Lessons. I can usually accommodate new students...so PLEASE check with me even if it appears I'm not free at your requested time.) I am a competition judge, member of National Music Teachers Association, and Suzuki Association of the Americas. I have proven results, as documented on my students YouTube channel. With my instruction, you will learn quickly and most importantly, correctly, saving you time and resources as you reach your musical goals. Fact: One of the only activities that activates, stimulates, and uses the entire brain is music, so let's get started!

Some people have difficulty reaching a teachers' studio. For this reason, I have perfected my ability to teach via Skype or FaceTime. It is an advantage for my students to be instructed by a quality teacher. One of the advantages for me is that I can see what is going on bigger than in real life. It's worth a try, isn't it?

*** Lesson Details ***
All the students on my Student YouTube channel who have studied under three years, are practicing 2 hours a week, and you will have a similar result. That's 20 minutes a day, 6 days a week. Students under 5 practice about 10-15 minutes a day.

Please have an assignment book that lies flat, and keep it next to your music books as you practice between lessons. My instructions are very detailed to insure your best progress.

You will benefit most by booking your lessons in advance by the semester, or at least by the month. Frequent cancellations will result in dismissal, as I wish only to teach committed, sincere and serious students...don't worry, my lessons are fun, and you will enjoy my sense of humor!

*** Studio Equipment ***
For on-line lessons, you will need a quiet place, and please test your sound and video prior to beginning of lesson. For students under 13 or so, do have a parent or caregiver taking notes while we work together.

*** Specialties ***
I have much experience with various learning styles, and in fact, am featured in a documentary made of one of my autistic students.

I began taking on line Organ lessons with Stephanie in July of 2016. She is an excellent instructor. She makes you want to learn and do your best. She is very patient and explains things very well. She asks that you practice 20 minutes a day. Since she inspires you to improve and do your best, it is easy to practice longer than requested. She has brought joy back into my life through music. I am very grateful.

I had taken lessons locally for several months and was very frustrated. I was given a color coded sticker and sheet music to get me playing fast however I actually wanted to learn to read and understand music.

On a lark I found Stephanie on the takelessons site. We scheduled a call where I explained my experience, frustrations, and what I wanted to accomplish. I honestly did not think online classes would work. Was I wrong!! It takes great skill in verbally correcting bow holds, etc. and Stephanie is terrific. Before I was told to practice but I never knew HOW to. Stephanie assigns specific tasks, # of time to repeat, and duration for homework. She is so friendly and easy to work with. I would recommend her for any age or skill level??

I am seventy years old and have absolutely no natural ability! Robert is patience and respectful, he always find something good about what I have learned. Very encouraging. My third lesson was the best as we both seemed more relaxed and get more comfortable. I like Robert.

I would definitely recommend Robert Martin as your music teacher. He is very patient and motivating. He has a great way of explaining techniques or concepts so you can easily understand them. He is very knowledgeable about many music genres and music theory. With his instruction, I have come along way in my guitar playing since I first starting taking lessons. Very nice man and great teacher.

Robert has been great to work with. He comes to our home weekly to work on bass guitar with our daughter. She has come so far in only a few months. They work on all aspect of the music- theory, finger placement, drills, and they pick some really fun music. He has let my daughter pick several songs she really likes so that she stays engaged. Meeting time been flexible which is a huge bonus! So much easier on all of us! Thanks Robert!

About Kendra
I have a love of music that never grows thin. My studies initiated with a purely classical approach leading to the scholarships I received to further my education. Performing with various orchestras
, musical theater, opera, and small ensembles fulfilled my childhood desires. Later in my career, I expanded my studying and performing in other musical genres that have included jazz, rock, blues, folk, latin and many more. Working with various talented musicians encouraged a new line of study in improvisation I hadn't acquired during my classical studies and performance. Provided with the opportunity to study, perform, and record in classical and alternative styles has only increased my love of music and ability to reach my students at a more personal level.

How to Read Guitar Chords
If you're beginning to learn how to play guitar, chances are you'll want to get started by learning a handful of chords. Learning how to read guitar chords is a great way to get familiar with guitar notation and get used to your instrument. A chord is a group of notes that makes a harmony when played all together. How to Transition from Classical Singing to Pop | Exploring Genres in Singing
There are so many different styles and genres to learn to sing, from classical singing to jazz to Broadway-style. Read on for some tips from St. Augustine, FL Heather L. for exploring pop music, even if you started out with classical training...   This article, however instructional, is a very personal one for me to write. 11 Ways to Practice Guitar While You Watch Shark Week
You know the best way to practice guitar is with deep concentration, carefully chosen music, and commitment to reaching your guitar goals. But this Shark Week, I have a confession to make. Sometimes I love to make a deep dent in the couch, play guitar, and watch TV for hours. This practice doesn't suit every guitarist, and it drives my family crazy, but I find playing guitar with the TV on incredibly relaxing and I think it's actually helped me become a better player in three distinct ways

Here, guitar instructor Zachary A. explains the phenomena of guitar feedback and how it can be manipulated to enhance your music...
