My teaching approach: I'm very patient with children and adults. The room where I teach is spacious; parents are welcome and encouraged to sit in and observe their children's lessons. I always allow time at the end of each lesson to update parents on the week's progress for their children.

I can help you with beginning piano (correct posture, hand position, basic scales and chords) through intermediate theory (extended chords & the scales used with them) and advanced theory (altered chords, chord substitutions, and scales used with them). I can teach you from beginning into intermediate classical, pop and jazz literature, including improvisation. I have performed for many receptions, weddings, and dinner events. When you get to the level where you need someone on the level of an Art Tatum or a Keith Jarrett to teach you, I'll know and I'll most gladly refer you on!

Stephen has been a great piano teacher. Both my boys take lessons from him and they enjoy it bery much. He is very clear about what they need to learn. His lessons are well planned and he’s flexible with the learning styles of each student. Sometime we even called him and asked questions after the lessons and he’s very generous and nice to have spent the time to explain things to the boys over the phone.

I've been studying piano with Steve for about a year. I could not be happier with my progress. Steve not only tunes right in to my needs but makes the discipline fun. He is a talented musician, and it's obvious he enjoys teaching music. I feel very fortunate to have him as my teacher.

I had my first lesson with Stephen today and he is an awesome teacher. I've been teaching myself for the last couple of years and was very nervous about playing in front of anyone. He made me feel very comfortable and picked up my needs quickly. He's very flexible and patient. I have full confidence that he will take me to the next level of reading, performing and theory. I'm exited to have found Stephen and look forward to my next lesson.

Experienced teacher of 4 years with a specialization in beginning/intermediate cello students. Lessons will cater to the needs of each individual student with a focus on a strong technical foundation. As a teacher, I concentrate on engaging students in their learning and aspire to inspire students to discover the joys and benefits of learning music. Not only will students learn to play the cello but they will have instruction in note reading, music theory and ear training. I believe that music should be enjoyable for students and strive to make meaningful connections with my students, positively influencing their musical lives.

About Naomi

I am a performer and teacher, specializing in cello and English as a Second Language. I graduated with a bachelor and master degree in music performance (cello) from Ball State University (Indiana). "What's that knob do?" "What happens if I press this button?" Square wave? Pulse wave? FM? ADSR? LFO?...
AUUUUGH!!
If you know absolute zero, or maybe a little about synthesis, here's your chance to learn what all those knobs and blinky lights do. Starting with the most basic concepts (waveforms, filters, sound manipulation, etc.), we'll get you up and running on your shiny new toy.
No dull, lab-coated lectures here! We can go as slow, or as fast as you want, with a bit of dry humor sprinkled about.
Since it's easier to get where you're going if you know where you've been, you'll learn just enough history to hopefully inspire you to search further in your quest for synth enlightenment.

About Doug

Doug has been involved with synthesizers since 1976, his first being a PAiA Gnome kit. Early influences include Tangerine Dream, Todd Rundgren, Brian Eno, David Bowie, and Isao Tomita. Since then, he has steadily worked his way up the synth food chain. He now owns a LOT of analog and digital synths

I will teach you to play from an emotional center and tell stories with your lead a guitar playing. I specialize in jam band guitar playing. This style, most typified by Jerry Garcia and Trey Anastasio, borrows from rock, blues and bluegrass. It is known for emphasis on soaring climaxes during improvised sets.

Why do some guitar players "noodle' instead of flow? The short answer is they are unclear about what they want to say and they are nervous. I will teach you to get the note from your inner ear to your fretboard. I will also teach you how to stay in a flow state. My lessons combine theory, ergonomics, mindfulness and journaling. The result will be confidence, clarity and the development of your own voice.

About Henry

I have been playing guitar, writing songs and singing for over thirty years. I believe that playing music is one of the most profound experiences that we can have on earth! I am also a yogi, meditator and hypnotist. I believe our mindset deeply affects our ability to have fun and progress. I do te

"I've been taking lessons with Moa for a few weeks now & she has been incredible. In such a short amount of time I have improved significantly as she is hard on me & forces me to do things the right way. Always friendly & fun, the lessons are exactly what I have needed.
Not only does she know what she is talking about, how to effectively instruct, but she also is active in the music industry herself.
Very happy with my lessons & I look forward to learning more & improving with Moa as my teacher"

"Good and patient teacher

I have been very pleased working with Lena over the past month. She adapts to various levels (I'm plain novice), covers theory and helps to conquer challenging pieces. I liked that she encouraged me to pursue a more complicated song I was interested in. At the same time, we covered easier ones to work on the basics.
Lena is a very pleasant person to deal with and I'm looking forward to continue taking lessons with her."

How Often Should You Tune a Piano?

Wondering about the average piano tuning cost, or how often you should tune a piano? You've come to the right place! Just as you go to the doctor for check-ups from time to time, your piano needs maintenance and care throughout its life. You may notice, especially if you have a keen ear, that your piano drops in pitch particularly during the summer and winter months. This is because your piano is mostly made of wood, and your wooden soundboard will contract when the weather is drier -- or the …
