About Sabrina
I've been banging on the piano since I was 3, but piano became more structured when I turned 7 and I've loved it so much since then. I've been classically trained and have 15 years piano playing experience. My favorite genre is Modern Japanese Classical music (fancy name for anime and video game music). (:
I have been teaching students for six years. People aren't intimidated when I am around and I believe students benefit greatly when they are comfortable with the teacher and can feel natural around them. The teaching process is most successful when the students share their ideas, disagreements, goals; when they are challenged and test their abilities.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am very laid back and love to laugh, but I do expect the students to be prepared and practice, this way they benefit the most from each teaching session
. I believe students should be involved in their curriculum, so I encourage all to bring in pieces THEY WANT to play because this will make the learning process overall more fun and enjoyable.
My trust is, if you practice regularly you can accomplish much in a short period of time. Whatever you put into piano, is what you will get out, whether great or small.

*** Specialties ***
Modern Japanese Classical. I like the Blues and Boogie genre also!! I also am very familiar with classical pieces from Scott Joplin, Rachmaninoff, Strauss, Bach, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Chopin to name a few - which help make a well rounded musician.

Baritone David C. completed both his B.M. and M.M. degrees in Voice Performance at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. David went on to complete a Graduate Performance Diploma in Voice at The Boston Conservatory in 2014. With over 8 years of teaching experience, David has worked with singers of all ages and ability levels. David's teaching is rooted in classical voice pedagogy but tailors his teaching to benefit singers interested in many styles. For four summers, David was a visiting faculty member at Cannon Music Camp in Boone, NC. As a performer, David has had professional experience in jazz, pop, musical theatre, opera and oratorio. His performing highlights include being selected to perform leading roles with the American Singers' Opera Project for three years, performances as Giorgio Germont in Verdi's La Traviata at The
Flagstaff in Fidenza Summer Opera Festival in Fidenza, Italy, main stage operatic roles at The Boston Conservatory, professional oratorio performances in North Carolina and New England in the works of Bach, Handel, Mendelssohn, Faure, Britten, Dvorak, Brahms and Rutter, and many recital and concert appearances. David's combination of experiences as both a singer and teacher of many styles make his teaching versatile, providing each student with a unique and effective lesson experience.

*** Lesson Details ***
Students can expect to spend half of our lesson time working on technique through exercises specifically designed to develop the most efficient use of their voice. The rest of the lesson be devoted to applying those techniques while singing repertoire agreed upon by both student and teacher.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Open living room set up. Keyboard. Seating for parents. Visitor's parking lot.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I have a keyboard if I'm teaching from home. If travelling, I can bring a portable keyboard..

*** Specialties ***
My singing and voice teaching are rooted in classical pedagogy, but I have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to perform and teach in numerous styles. It is my belief that a healthy classical foundation can be modified and put into practice to make singing in any style easy and efficient.

About Sean
Hello future students,

My name is Sean I am a composer living in Charlotte, NC. I hold a Master's in Music Composition from the University of Redlands and a Bachelor's in Music from the University of SC. I have been teaching guitar, bass, keyboard, audio engineering, and songwriting/composition for 5 years.

Whether you are a novice, a seasoned musician, or just someone with an old guitar and too much time on your hands, I am ready to teach you. I offer in-studio, in-home, and Skype lessons at 1/2 hr to 1 1/2 increments. In these lessons, I will provide you with the materials required. My only prerequisite is that students are required to own the instrument that they are studying.

My teaching style is based on you, the individual. There are no foolproof methods for teaching music because every student is unique. What works well
for one student may prove to be frustrating and confusing to another. My mission is to meet you at your experience level and gently lead you to a higher understanding of music. In our first lesson together, we will discuss your goals and how we can meet them.

I offer recording services as well. I have the necessary gear and several years of experience recording various types of ensembles. Have a melody but no harmony? Let's find the chords the melody is asking for. Have chords but no melody? Let's find the melody that conveys the mood you're trying to create. Have an already existing song that you want to work on? Let's tighten it up in lessons and cut a demo of it.

This education is yours. I want you to get the absolute most out of your experience with me. If I seem like I'd be a good fit as your teacher, sign up for some lessons. I promise a fun and rewarding experience.

Best,
Sean

I am a new student -- and have never learned to play an instrument. I was encouraged by medical providers to learn an instrument as part of certain of my cognitive therapies. My instrument (the mandolin) was a gift from my son.
I have been fortunate to work with Sean O. G. Burns over the past few months. His style is perfect for my needs. He is patient, and leads with a gentle push -- no pressure! Sean is incredibly talented in his own right musically, and has talents - I'm sure, well beyond my needs -- I see him as an excellent teacher for all ages!

My name is Ronald S. At the age of 9, I started playing the guitar for my Father's Gospel Group who is a great Gospel D.J. (Big Clyde). Through the years I have taken several guitar courses from several instructors. In the last seven months I have taken instructions from Mr. Christian, I have excelled further and have learned more than all my other adventures.

Micheal's business based environment in an open studio type classroom is a must. In Micheal's unique style of teaching you not only learn to play the guitar, but he also instructs you in song with a spirit of being well satisfied.

As shoppers pass through the store they enjoy the sounds of students playing their guitars following the guidance of Mr. Christian. This also gives his students a chance to perform in front of other people giving them a finer definitions for the art of music. If you are looking for a music instructor, one who focuses in on your difficult areas and searches for improvement to make you the best musician possible in all areas, or if you are just looking to learn and have lots of fun, then Mr. Christian is your contact. Please visit him at one of his jam sessions..

In April of this year, I retained Michael to instruct my 13 year old daughter, Jennifer, in guitar lessons. I was quite impressed with Mr. Michael right from the beginning.

Since I knew nothing about guitars, I had no idea what type of guitar to purchase for Jennifer. Mr. Christian offered on his own time to go with us to help in the purchase of the guitar. He kept in mind what we could afford and the quality of the guitars, it was very reassuring to know that he was looking out for our welfare and to be able trust him.

I am very impressed with the progress Jennifer has made in playing the guitar. She looked forward to her lessons with Mike. She looked forward to her lessons with Mike. He made the lessons interesting and "fun". Mike not only taught her to play the guitar but also how to read music and understand it.

Mike is a very kind, moral, talented young man and I recommend him highly. We are sorry to see him leave, however, our loss is your gain.

A few minutes to get to know each other than Sue used the books I brought to get started. I explained my previous lessons, where I felt I was at, then Sue took over. She was very relaxed, which relaxed me.
It is important to bring at least one piano book if you had taken lessons in the past.

About Sara
Hello, and welcome to my page! My philosophy for singing is that a truly great singer is versatile, and that the ideal voice is a flexible instrument that can handle a variety of genres and styles.

My personal training is primarily in classical, and I have a Master's degree in classical voice/opera from Boston Conservatory at Berklee. However, I also actively sing pop, musical theater, and even heavy metal!

Singing can be challenging, and while I work with the student intensely to diagnose and fix vocal issues, it is very important to me that the student feels happy and confident. I encourage students to express their creativity by singing in styles that they feel comfortable with, choosing their own songs, and even adding their own riffs/runs/ornamentations.

I like to place a heavy focus on music theory and sight-singing (I
offer private lessons in these subjects separately as well); It is extremely important for young singers to be able to read the notes on the staff, to understand rhythm and key, and to find pitches on the piano.

I accept beginning-intermediate singers of all ages. I additionally offer music theory, sight-singing, and diction lessons as well as beginner/introductory piano.

Using the Suzuki method, students are able to play the violin at young ages which is great for brain development, learning to control sounds, and also learning to be disciplined in as as they learn to practice in small amounts! I have twin boys, who just turned 11 years old. They both have been taking guitar lessons for just under 2 years. They love taking guitar lessons, but, typically, only do the minimum requirement for practice. However, we recently began working with Andrew and, for the first time ever, they went back in, after their lesson, and practiced for another 30 minutes. This is a great testament to Andrew and how much they love working with him. Obviously, I highly recommend Andrew!!
