About Scott
I've been teaching music lessons now for over 10 years. I have been singing, playing the guitar, and playing piano since I was 7 years old. I went to Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey to study Sacred Music. While there I had the distinct honor of performing Beethoven's 9th Symphony and Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem with the New York Philharmonic, The Dresden Philharmonic and the New Jersey Symphony at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center NY, New York as well as the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Throughout my time there I also developed my piano proficiency through rigorous ear training and through the learning of theoretical concepts in music.

I then went on to work with Mid-America Productions and the New England Symphonic Ensemble. Through this opportunity I have now sung over a dozen performances of vario
us classical choral masterworks at Carnegie Hall in New York City! "How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, Practice, Practice!"

I've been playing guitar in various bands since a very young age and have recently begun work on my first solo studio album. I am the guitarist in the band Tonight Theater. The styles I enjoy include (but are not limited to) Rock, Jazz, Classical, Reggae, Punk, Progressive Rock, Metal, Experimental, Avant Garde, Pop, Funk, Blues, and Jam. I can assist you with chords, scales, rhythm, improvisation, sight reading and rocking! I can also sing in nearly any style and can help you to do the same.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons will guide you in becoming a well rounded and proficient musician. I strive to ensure your development of healthy technique and encourage you to practice consistently. My biggest commitment as your music teacher is to your steady forward progress. My lessons are specifically designed to solidify your comprehension and to enable your application of the skills being learned. Your music lessons will typically follow this format:

*Tuning of the instrument (if applicable).
*Ear Training: exercises and techniques to develop your listening and aural skills.
*Review of current assignments, techniques, and music theory concepts.
*Introduction of new concepts, techniques, and exercises.
*Work on current repertoire assignments. Songs are chosen by the student and the teacher and are level/age appropriate.
*Final thoughts on the day's lesson and a quick review of key concepts covered.

I look forward to helping you reach your dreams! No goal is too lofty! :)

*** Studio Equipment ***
There is a living room for parents to wait during the lesson if they'd like. My studio contains amplifiers, an upright grand piano, multiple acoustic and electric guitars, some computer recording equipment, and seating for parents to sit in on the lesson if they'd prefer.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Small Tube Amplifier, Music Stand, Tuner, Picks, Teaching Materials.

*** Specialties ***
I pride myself on my distinct ability as a rock guitar improvisor. Improvisation is at the core of my live performance. If you want to hear a song played the same way over and over again, listen to a recording. Live performance, to me, is about constantly providing new life and breath to the material being played. Each distinct performance captures unique attributes only available for channeling at that one moment and it will never be recreated.

Michelle is great! She is very professional and patient, but a couple things that truly make her stand out.

One, she is always willing to record an accompaniment for the song of your choice so that you can easily work on your own. Sometimes she even does a couple versions. Better still, when I was really struggling she tailor made exercises for me so that I could improve.

Two, she explains things very well. For example, I struggled with visualizing how the physical parts of my voice interact with each other and what physically happens when I sing. Her explanation combined with the diagrams from her singing books allowed me to finally make the connection.

You can’t go wrong with Michelle!

I provide basic versatile vocal coaching for children, teens, and adults.

About Michelle
I took private music lessons (piano and voice) until I graduated from high school, and gained experience as a performer and accompanist. I obtained a regular role playing at our church when I was in the 7th grade, and became a regular accompanist for the school choir and various community activities. I was the pianist/music director in each high school drama production and gained experience working with an orchestra and singing in and directing the choir.

I continued as an accompanist and vocalist in college. Since college, I have provided music for weddings and events.

I love to share music with others. Music is happiness! It brings people together and aids development for children. It's truly enjoyable for me to pass along the love of music to my students.

At first I was very apprehensive with the online format as never tried that before, but needn't as XiaoMing was an excellent teacher. Helped me to translate passages in simple Chinese for me to make in my presentation. Corrected me on my tones which I needed. A clever guy who is flexible to do Business Chinese or Conversational Chinese. Recommended.

I have been singing with groups professionally and casually for the past eighteen years, and in that time have been exposed to singing methods ranging from the classically cantorial styles of Eastern Europe, to the more modern mellow tones of singers like Michael Buble.
My teaching style centers around practical, immediate improvements to singing tone, breadth of range, and vocal awareness and control. Expect to see improvements from the first lesson and, given time, consistent and appreciable growth.

About Dahvid
I have been singing professionally and casually for the past eighteen years in groups with styles ranging from classically cantorial to those with more more modern tones reminiscent of singers such as Michael Buble. I have played guitar for fourteen years, piano intermittently during that time, and am fluent in musical notation and theory.
My teaching style focuses on immediate, practical improvements to tone, range, and vocal control and awareness. Students can expect tangible results from the first lesson, and consistent, appreciable growth throughout.

It is my belief that everyone should sing - no one should hold themselves back from lack of self confidence in their skill, real or imagined. Singing is a wonderful, fulfilling thing, and it is my goal to inspire the skills and confidence in students that will allow them to express th
emselves, in their personal or professional lives, without fear of social stigma.
