We are a husband and wife piano teaching team that enjoy seeing children grow as they expand their musical skill set. We are firm believers of learning the fundamentals. We teach all ages and levels, and want our students to be having fun!

It is great getting a student to think and analyze the task at hand. It might seem too hard at first, but I will walk the student through the process of figuring out how to play a piece. Learning music gives you a lot of skills applicable to everyday life.

I love music, and I love teaching children to play the piano! I teach classical and sacred music. I have played for many special events (weddings/funerals/church worship team). Growing up in a one-income family, I understand the difficulty of finding affordable music lessons. My low price enables families with multiple children to have piano lessons they can afford. I have flexibility to service home-school families during the day. In my piano room, there is a large table where waiting students can quietly play games or do homework. I am approximately two miles from North Lake mall with quick access to I-485 and I-77.

My name is Maggie and I'm a piano teacher. I have been teaching private piano lessons for 10 years. I focus on students' fundamental skills such as finger technic, sight reading, and ear training. I also incorporate music theory during the piano lesson so students also understand why the music sounds beautiful. I teach at my home studio, and I can also drive to your place if you have a piano or keyboard. I teach Classical, Jazz, Blues, and Pop. A teacher of mine once said if you aim for perfection, you get to be pretty darn good. I like to start with a small amount of material that the student can play very well, and use that to refine the basics. By taking a thorough approach (and playing beautiful music), the entire world of piano and music will slowly and surely open up to the pupil.

In my opinion, tone production and rhythm are the major factors that distinguish a great pianist (and make playing the most satisfying), so this is the major focus of our work. I have a very thorough understanding of proper technique and can prescribe exercises that will strengthen one's weaknesses.

I also have a unique background in that I studied jazz improvisation and classical composition, so I understand the inner workings of the music and can improvise in the styles (jazz, classical, baroque, romantic).

I've taken my piano students through music of all levels and all genres. Whatever your goals I'll help you see them through!
