I would highly recommend Tony Mitri as a voice and music instructor. My son takes lessons with Mr. Mitri and his progress has been astounding! He studies with other teachers previously without much success. My son has said he has learned more from Mr. Mitri than all of his previous instructors. He enjoys the lessons so he works harder at making progress and it shows. He helped him expand his range substantially, and increase his confidence. I would highly recommend him to anyone interested in music of any kind. Mr.Mitri is awesome professional, patient and extremely knowledgeable. You won’t be disappointed.

Beginning classical training is one of this most exciting adventures you can take! My own musical journey has taken me performing from DC to Europe and Asia, to Princeton and NYC, and now back to the DC area! Having completed a Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Voice Teaching at the Westminster Choir College, I would love to take part in your classical vocal training! Together, we can create the perfect program for your needs. Whether your goal is to sing professionally, or to learn how to sing in tune, I am your gal!

Thank you so much and I look forward to teaching you!

*Note* I'm only able to travel to give in-home lessons when the lesson duration is 45 mins or more.

About Grace

Hi there! My name's Grace and I'm a voice teacher and a classically trained performer. I’ve been in the DC area for about 2 years now and am delighted to grow my voice studio! If you or your child loves to sing and would like to take your singing to the next level, feel confident as a soloist, or prepare for an audition, give yourself or your child a classical basis for how to healthfully sing. Now is the time! I have a varied background: I started out in musical theatre and choirs and now sing with orchestras, opera companies, and churches. I began teaching privately in college, then taught private lessons, before proceeding to the Westminster Choir College, where I received a Master of Music in Voice and Voice Teaching (formally Vocal Performance and Pedagogy.) Hope to meet you soon!

*Note* Due to the number of students I currently t

each, I no longer travel to student’s houses. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Learn how the pros do it!

If you want to learn pop, I'll teach you the same techniques used by Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Bon Jovi, Mick Jagger, and more... because I study with their teacher!

If you want to learn Opera, learn to tackle any audition, gig, or recording session just like Marilyn Horne did. I've got exercises from teachers at the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, and from Marilyn Horne herself to get you right on top of your game!

I've been singing professionally for 16 years. I've sung my own show at Carnegie Hall. I was Gaston in the national tour of Beauty and the Beast and I never missed one of our 326 shows. I can get you on the Gaston regimen in as little as one lesson.

Please message me with your availability and describe your goals before you purchase a lesson.

About Christiaan

Christiaan is a multi-talented performer in theater, opera, and pop music. He played Gaston in the Broadway tour of Beauty and the Beast. Something of a bad boy, he was kicked out of Opera School for singing jazz, yet he went on to earn three music degrees, and work with opera legend Marilyn Horne and avant-garde composer Jake Heggie. Now he's in New York studying with Lady Gaga's teacher and singing his own arrangements of Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5, and John Mayer at Carnegie Hall while writing and recording pop songs in Nashville and the U.K. Look for his new single That's When You Know.

Christiaan enjoys seeing people succeed, so his approach to teaching is a combination of play and practice. Ultimately we sing because we want to bring people joy, yet to do so, we must hone our talents to perfection. By mixing the joy of music with disci

pline, we achieve our greatest dreams.

I've had a great experience taking lessons with Christiaan! I've had about 10 lessons total now. As someone who doesn't have a background singing, I was definitely a bit nervous going into it, but that didn't last long -- Christiaan's friendly and extremely talented. I especially appreciate that he provides context about posture, history, anatomy, etc. and that he took time early on to learn about my goals. Last but not least, I'm happy with my results so far!

In my singing career, I have benefited tremendously from instruction by teachers who perform professionally. I want to help my students develop their vocal ability by meeting them where they are and applying the lessons I have learned from practical experience as well as from what I have been taught. My goal is to equip students with the skills so that they can develop a reliable technique that works under all situations.

In 2013, I began singing professionally in principal roles with major opera companies (with regular appearances at Dallas Opera) and as a soloist with orchestras across the United States. I was an Adler Fellow with San Francisco Opera from 2011-2012. I received my Artist Diploma in Opera Performance from the Academy of Vocal Arts, my M.M. in Voice Performance from Boston University and my B.M. in Voice Performance from Westminster Choir College.

About Ryan

In 2011, I began singing professionally in principal roles with major opera companies and as a soloist with orchestras across the United States. I have sung on the stages of the Dallas Opera, Metropolitan Opera, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Opera Colorado, San Diego Opera and Florida Grand Opera to name a few. I am one of the very few fortunate enough singers who has been able to make my living for 8 years solely on my chosen profession.

In my singing career, I have benefited tremendously from instruction by teachers who perform professionally. I want to help my students develop their vocal ability by meeting them where they are and applying the lessons I have learned from practical experience as well as from what I have been taught. My goal is to equip students with the skills so that they can develop a reliable technique that works unde

r all situations.

I have incorporated artistry, language, and dramatic intention into my preparation whenever I perform professionally. I have extensive vocal study with William Stone, Penelope Bitzas, and Elem Eley. I continue to study and improve my languages through vocal coachings and lessons. I am committed to life long learning and development of my vocal ability and sharing that with my students.

I received my Bachelors of Music in Voice Performance from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. My Masters in Music in Voice Performance from Boston University in Boston, MA. My Artist Diploma in Opera Performance from the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, PA. I was also an Adler Fellow with San Francisco Opera where I sang 59 mainstage performances in 2 fall seasons.

I have spent the last 5 years developing a 10 step program that all of my students work through when they begin with me! During that time, I was also a part of a performing arts group where I had the opportunity to teach, perform and travel all over the world to countries like Germany, Poland, and Japan. I have worked with students of all ages and skill levels to develop their technique. My goal as an instructor is to help you to become the most prepared artist, no matter where you are. During your time with me, we will address topics like: vocal health, audition technique, rehearsal technique and etiquette, the proper way to approach new music and music styles, and more! Once you have completed the initial ten step program, the lessons are then tailored around you and the advancement of your skills so you can take your career as an artist to the next level.

About Jacqueline

Jacqueline is a young artist who discovered her love for performing in her very early years. From the time that she was able to speak, she was singing; often giving private (and typically mandatory) performances for her family in the living room. As she grew older, the fireplace was replaced by a stage, and her Barbie microphone was replaced with a real one.

When she graduated high school, she decided to embark on a journey that would change her life in more ways than she thought possible. The first step on this journey was moving to California to be a part of The Young Americans College of Performing Arts. During her time here, she learned how to be a better vocalist, dancer and actor. However, she also discovered that she has an affinity for managing costumes for a production, as well as learning how to properly write, produce, and

manage a show. With this group, Jacqueline had the opportunity to travel, perform, teach, and experience life and culture in wonderful ways. In 2017, she spent three months traveling from town to town in Europe; specifically the countries of Germany and Poland. Then, in 2018, she had the opportunity to be in Japan for 6 weeks as part of an advanced cast. During this time, she and the cast would work to put on workshops for students there. Some workshops would be three days in length, while others were only a day.

Regardless of time, the students were given the opportunity to see performing in a new light, try some skills they might have never done before, and then put on a full performance of their own for their parents, peers, and community. After the six weeks were over, she was a part of a select cast which performed at a dinner theatre for the remainder of the summer. Each evening brought its own challenges alongside its own magic. Getting to hone her skills and make memories with cast and audience members alike were her favorite parts of this experience. Throughout her career with The Young Americans, Jacqueline was part of roughly 150 performances around the world.
Jacqueline has since moved home, with hopes of pursuing a full career as a vocalist, musician, and teacher.

"Find something you are passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it."

Paula
"Very helpful, and the added benefit of the opportunity to learn about how to use Audacity. We found a good vocal exercise for me to use."
Ben
"I highly recommend Sarabeth to anyone interested in singing, whether you have already had some background in voice or you are just starting out.

Sarab
eth is a truly amazing voice teacher!!! She led me step by step through many vocal exercises and taught me many a great classical song! Her patience and encouragement were ever present at each lesson as I stumbled through the classical songs which were written in other languages.

I have SMA type 1-2, a severely debilitating and progressive disease, and my lung capacity was 24% of normal when Sarabeth started teaching me. Under her guidance, I was able to increase my lung capacity to 28%! Believe me when I say that this is not supposed to happen to people with SMA. In general our lung capacities continue to decrease as the disease progresses until we need to be placed under mechanical ventilation. The most common mode of death for people with SMA is respiratory failure.

I am deeply saddened that Sarabeth is moving away to Los Angeles and will no longer be able to be my singing teacher, but wishing her the best of luck there!!! I will always remember her as the incredibly wonderful teacher she is!"

"Great instructor. Got me too understand pacing, breathing and projection very quickly."
Jackie
"My daughter has taken lessons with at least 5 other voice teachers over the past 4 years, and Daniel is by far the best fit. He is encouraging and knowle
dgeable. The difference between a song we think she has down, and the song after she works on it with Daniel is just amazing. She wants to sing and play bass professionally, so we tap into Daniel's expertise about the music industry and bring songs for auditions, solos, performances, etc. to him with no advance warning and he teaches her how to approach them. He consciously expands her range on the low side as well as high side. Most importantly, he is very professional, kind and supportive about life, not just in music. And, of course, there is his amazing voice that can shake our house if we ask him to sing something!"
...
Whitney
"Patrick has been a colleague for mine for over 4 years now. He is a fantastic teacher with a solid vocal technique, and I have seen him work with students
of all ages and skill levels. He curates his teaching to suit each individual student and helps them grow and forge their own path into singing in a positive, affirming atmosphere. He is personable and kind, and I could not recommend him more."

"Laurel is an awesome musician! I have performed numerous choral concerts with her."
Michelle
"It's my first time taking voice lessons in NYC and Asuka is just great. It's only been two lessons and I'm singing much louder than I ever imagined. She h
elps you to reach your limits and then go beyond that. She can always precisely point out the things you should work on and if you do as she says you'll sound like a new person. Also, classes are fun and efficient and she makes you feel so comfortable too."
...
Abby
"I started taking voice lessons with Wesley to help me with my college auditions, and I couldn't be happier! He really knows what he is talking about! I ha
ve become way more confident in my singing, and I am no longer nervous for my auditions next year! Thanks!"
...
Katie
"I would not have been prepared whatsoever for the (what seemed like) never ending process of college auditioning. While college auditions are typically an
xiety boosters, Michelle and Robert’s technique and ways of preparation over prepared me to the point where the audition was a breeze. With their help using mock auditions including sight singing, how to self warm up, posture and the necessity for 3-5 pieces of repertoire that fit my image and sound, I would not be where I am today. I knew nothing of the tediousness that a college audition was. Throughout my practice we worked on acting, something I needed major reform on. With practice, my acting made me more confident performing my piece as well as engaged my audience. Without both of their motivation and push I would not have succeeded the way I did and my audition would have been a lot bigger and scarier, when in reality it wasn’t. The biggest help for me, I believe was the mock auditions. With constant practices that mimicked the actual audition, this prepared me both mentally and physically for what the actual procedure would be like. I practiced entering the room as well as greeting the judges, something I hadn’t thought of prior. Interacting with the judges seemed a lot less nerve racking with the use of practice questions and how to answer them in a polite and engaging way. As we continued to practice, my nerves subsided. It became routine and over prepared me for the actual audition. Without Robert and Michelle’s aid I would not have been able to overcome some of my personal anxieties as well as succeed the way I did. Their constant motivation and cheer helped my nerves and allowed me to completely relax yet stay focused when practicing. I wouldn’t have the confidence I have today without their help aiding me in my vocal presentation and interaction with school officials/judges. Any student would be extremely lucky to have Michelle and Robert prepare them for college. With their tough work ethic and constant motivation, success surely follows."
