About Ken
I was born and raised in the Mid-Western US where I played and performed in several circuit bands, some which received record contracts! I also have 2 national product endorsements. After 10 years of playing in the mid-west, I then set my eyes on the Southern US where I currently resides and performs. I have over 27 years of total experience in the industry. This experience includes guitars, equipment, booking, marketing, effects, amplifiers, recording and live music mixing. I have hands-on experience in many musical styles such as Rock, Heavy Metal, Pop, R&B, Country, Top 40, Funk and Folk music.

Over the past 10 years, I have started my teaching practice and I've taught students who range from 7 years of age and up. The one thing I have learned is that lessons absolutely have to be fun! I target each student’s lessons to uniquely foll
ow your goals and get YOU to where you want to be.

Some of my guitar influences are Van Halen, Steve Vai, ACDC, Guns ‘n Roses, Led Zeppelin and James Brown just to name a few. I've shared the stage with Eddie Money, David Lee Roth, Great White and several other national touring artists. I have a passion for music and love to share this with others willing to learn the instrument.

*** Lesson Details ***
Some example lessons would be as follows:

I target each student uniquely. No cookie-cutter lesson plans! I learn your short and long-terms goals and set the lesson material appropriately to help the student achieve their goals. Lessons absolutely have to be fun, so if you like to laugh and have a good time while learning guitar, this is right up your alley!

I use both written and media formats for my lessons. For example, the written material may include chords, modes or scales while the MP3 files (which I send via email) will cover the application of this material and can be used by the student for reference at home. Often the MP3 files include the material performed at a very slow speed and then again at normal speed to help the student understand the lesson and material.

All you need is a positive attitude and a desire to make music and you will be able to do it with a smile!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music Studio: couches, music stands, recording equipment, amps and guitars, chord diagrams, room for parents to sit in on lesson

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide a guitar for the lessons although I expect that the student will need one of their own to practice

*** Specialties ***
Rock Guitar, Pop, Top 40

This was my first private lesson with Dr. Daniel, most importantly he made me feel very comfortable and I wasn't afraid to sing notes in front of him. Dr.Daniel took the time to gather my history and take notes about what I said. Dr. Daniel was very thorough for our first visit, even though I had only booked my first class to be 30 minutes. I look forward to taking more lessons with him and am excited for our next lesson! Thank you so much!

About Lisa
Hello and welcome to my profile!

If you love to learn I love to teach!

For my beginner adult students I can have you playing your favorite song (with both hands) in just a matter of weeks and as for my beginner little kids I use the FJH company curriculum so that they will become well rounded pianist. I'm able to teach anyone that has a natural ear for playing and those that don't.

I homeducreated my kids for 16 years so from that experience I'm able to bring very customized training to each person.

If you would like online lessons I'm now able to do that. Please, contact me for specific scheduling.

With Kind Regards,

Lisa Overly

Rebecca has been a fantastic teacher. I was very nervous getting in starting, because I am beginning this experience later than most and was concerned about "an old dog learning a new trick". With the stress of everyday life, I did not want to create stress, but was looking for new ways to expand and focus my mind. She has made this experience rewarding, fun and enlightening. The lesson time seems to fly by and I always anticipate getting back home after work so I can continue to work on what she has taught me.

This has been very rewarding for me!

About Philip
I am a professional concert violinist and teacher. I hold a Master's Degree in Violin from University of Oklahoma, where I was the concertmaster of the university symphony and an assistant teacher to the violin professor. My extensive musical training has given me the needed skills to be the best teacher I can be.

I have been happily teaching violin for over 10 years, and it becomes more enjoyable each day. I currently teach at The Musicians Learning Center in Raleigh, as well as privately. My experience has included beginner students, highly advanced violinists in music school, and any level in between. Every student is completely different from the next, demanding a very dynamic and sensitive teaching style on my own part. My success in this has allowed my students to consistently thrive under me and to look forward to each lesson as m
uch as I do.

My performance career has included positions with numerous professional symphony orchestras around the country, including the Austin Symphony , the Wichita Symphony, the Amarillo Symphony, and many more. I have also performed in hundreds of public concerts and functions as a soloist and an ensemble musician.

Whether you are picking up the violin for the first time, would like help learning/writing your favorite song, or are an advanced violinist preparing for music school auditions, I am eager to meet you!

Philip was so patient and effective with my daughters. They never felt the least bit frustrated, because he always made learning the violin feel so easy and natural! Even though they only were able to study with him for a short time due to distance, they both made great gains during that time! He has a real gift for putting young children at ease, and finding how to draw out their best abilities!
