Jonathan has a demonstrable amount of knowledge about the violin including different playing styles, music theory, and its practical application. His approach is incremental and measured that adapts to my specific strengths and weaknesses intermixed with an appropriate amount of patience. He is also very personable. I always look forward to our lessons together.

Elena was able to teach someone 500 miles away the basics to a slew of different Latin ballroom dances (salsa, marengue, bachata, cumbia step, etc.) In just a few lessons I was able to feel comfortable enough with the steps and timing to be able to dance in public with others! She was very amazing and was willing to accommodate to my needs as a student. She gave plenty of reference material as well as songs so that I'd be able to practice when not taking lessons. I would highly recommend her as a teacher to anyone who is wanting to learn Latin Ballroom dance, but doesn't know where to start!

Joyee is a great ACT tutor. He is patient, encouraging, and has deep insight into the type questions the current ACT tests include.

We engaged Joyee to help my daughter with her ACT - focusing on Science and Maths. Her initial diagnostic test results were decent - 33 out of 36. After two months of Joyee’s help, my daughter proceeded to take her ACT in September. She received the perfect score - 36 out of 36. We are very happy with her results and she couldn’t have gotten the perfect score in such short period of time had we not engaged Joyee.

This past summer, I was in search of a tutor to assist my brother with his preparation for the ACT. A number of conversations with local tutors proved fruitless, as they were either too expensive or had rigid schedules. After doing some research online, I came across Joyee’s profile on Wyzant. I was particularly impressed by his extensive background in ACT tutoring having worked for some well-regarded test preparation companies. In addition, his rates were extremely fair. I enlisted Joyee’s tutoring services via skype, and my experience was remarkable. In spite of the three hour time difference between the east coast and west coast, Joyee remained a consummate professional with regard to his scheduling and punctuality. Most importantly, he is fully invested in his students, demonstrating patience and understanding whilst pushing them to achieve their full potential. Prior to working with Joyee, my brother had an initial diagnostic score of 27. After six weeks of tutoring with Joyee my brother scored a 35 on the September 2015 ACT. Joyee Lin of Thinque has been nothing short of amazing. Professional with results to show. My daughter started working with Joyee a couple of months ago. Within six lessons, my daughter's composite ACT score went from a 28 prior to working with Joyee to a 32. Amazingly, her science score went from a 25 to a 32.
Those numbers are the end result of Joyee's professional approach to teaching. During the lesson, Joyee utilizes a number of methods to present the material. It must be said that my daughter took his instruction seriously and worked hard on the material which was provided to her. The result was a good example of team work in which my daughter could receive, in addition to immediate instruction, quick review and understanding after working through the material.
Joyee makes it easy to work around a busy lifestyle as he schedules and responds to correspondence promptly. We can't offer him enough praise. Joyee is offering an amazing service and we were so glad to have been referred to him.

Jackeline is patient yet firm in that she gives you time to recollect and explains why your answer was incorrect. She encourages you to use the new language in the lesson which is most helpful and gives guidelines and exercises to re-enforce the lesson.

We are very pleased. She works well with younger children. Ms. Jackeline creates fun and engaging lessons for our 6 year old.

She is very patient and gives you time to recollect yourself if you make an error. Very helpful too, will give you other options to help you recollect yourself and remember.

Kim tutored me during my last semester of my senior year on statistics. I am SO thankful to have learned from her because, not only is she a welcoming person to meet with, but her help on statistics brought my grade average up by almost 2 letter grades!
I actually felt excited about this tough subject because Kim never had to graze over any subjects in the course; she always knew the subject and went in-depth when I needed it.

I worked with Kim on The Study of Mathematically Precocious Youth at Vanderbilt. She is a brilliant statistician and a very patient teacher. She is able to work with the student or advisee on an individual basis by assessing the individual's educational needs. I would highly recommend her to any student who needs help in any field of mathematics.

Alex is an amazing tutor. Working with him was a great experience. Alex identified and targeted my weaknesses in math; he reinforced whatever basics I was missing and then worked from there to polish my skills. He even worked on notes for me on his own time.

I have been communicating with Alex for about 8 months. First he was helping me with my Trigonometry class and now with Pre-Cal. I have zero issues with his performance. He is very professional and extremely knowledgeable about anything to do with Math. Keep in mind, he is good at both Math AND teaching/explaining it. I have every intention to use him for every Math class I have in my quest to obtain a degree in Com- Science. If he was living In Houston, he would probably be my wife's piano teacher.

I got tutored in Algebra for about a week and he was very accommodating of the time and when I needed more or when I needed less he was very flexible. He's an excellent tutor, he won't cut corners and will make you actually think and solve the work instead of hustling you along to the next one. If you're looking for a math tutor then I don't know that you really could find one better.
