Learn to sing correctly leading toward a "Classical" sound while possibly growing toward a career in Classical Music.

About Phillip
I am a pianist and singer who started learning to play the piano at age 6, and I love teaching all students of all experience levels. Growing up I competed and placed highly in many competitions including playing with the Symphony Orchestra in my home town of Spartanburg, SC after winning it's concerto competition at the age of 17. In college I took piano from Dr. Charles Fugo at the University of South Carolina and also started taking voice lessons from Tonya Currier and Walter Cuttino. While still in college I worked with The South Carolina Opera company for a season as a member of the ensemble and as Chorus Master.
Professionally, I have worked with different theater and opera companies as a lead actor and as a musician. I have also worked in many different church positions as a musician and singer.
I have many years of teaching ex
perience with piano at all experience levels.

*** Lesson Details ***
I have experience teaching since 1995 while I was still in college. I primarily use Alfred and "Faber & Faber" piano methods for beginners. I teach how to read music, understand the theory behind the music, and the technique needed in a patient atmosphere at the pace of the student. I also teach you how the piano works and the different types of pianos as well as the history of keyboards used for different classical music. The lessons are geared toward the goals of the student no matter what level is desired.
In teaching singing, I will teach you the basics necessary to create a healthy and relaxed sound through technique. With experience singing music ranging from classical to contemporary church music to musical theater, I can teach you how to use the voice in a way that will promote a long time of singing without adding stress to the voice. I will work with any style of music and will give you the technique and confidence needed to become a better singer.

*** Studio Equipment ***
In my home studio is a piano and books with big windows to look out. Pianos are an upright piano and an Alesis Synthesiser. Seating is available for parents as well.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect the student to have a piano or an electric keyboard at home for piano lessons. For voice lessons a keyboard is not required but is helpful.

*** Specialties ***
I primarily teach piano in a classical style using either "Faber & Faber" or Alfred Methods for piano lessons.
For voice, I teach all my students to sing in a way that will be the most beneficial to the health of their voice. Doing this is helpful to all styles of singing.

About Ryan
I began singing when I was seven in a school choir. After that, I joined a boy choir in Florida that allowed me to travel all over the United States and Europe, exposing me to many different genres of music. When I entered college, I decided to start training as an opera singer. Since then, I have gained a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Minor in Theater Arts from the University of Miami (FL) and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music. I have been fortunate to perform extensively and have become passionate about performing. Having recently graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Music, I am dedicated to building a studio in the Haddon Heights area.

*** Lesson Details ***
Learning to sing should be fun and exciting! It's a personal talent that I love and enjoy and am excited to share that
with my students. I teach a classical technique focusing on breath, posture and a natural, healthy sound. From this technique, anyone can sing any genre of music healthily and for a long time. If you want to audition for some big part/company or if you just want to beat your friends in a karaoke competition I'll be happy to help! Piano students will be using technique books, and once a grasp of the fundamentals has been gained, the next step is to work on some basic repertoire of your choice. Learning technique is essential but of no use unless it's applied to music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Private studio in a comfortable common area with great acoustics in my home. A keyboard, music, internet access and street parking are all available. I recommend recording lessons but it is not required.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide a keyboard and some music. If you want to record your lessons I encourage it.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in classical singing technique which is the basis for any genre of singing, basic piano technique and classical music theory.

About Maria
MISSION STATEMENT:

The mission of my studio is to create well-rounded, educated musicians who will always have a lifelong passion for the art no matter their long-term goals. I strive for my students to be:

(1) Lifelong learners who develop successful learning habits.
(2) Creative and critical thinkers who will become effective communicators.
(3) Responsible and respectful members of society who respect other cultures.
(4) Able to set short-term and long-term goals and be able to see them through to their success.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:

It is of the utmost importance that my students are well-educated in their chosen instrument; they must know and understand music and music-making. Students who can play are a dime a dozen, but students who understand the music they are playing are often hard to find. I teach students to kno
w music thoroughly, not just to “play.” I desire my students to comprehend elements of the score, to use their bodies effectively to make good sound, and to interpret music creatively and according to historical performance practices across all genres of music. Thus, I give students a purposeful education in technique, quality literature, performance and artistry, music theory, and music history.

Although students differ in ability and development, I maintain high expectations for our students. I expect attention and respect in lessons, faithful and diligent practice, careful adherence to instructions, and an “I’ll-do-my-best” attitude. If students regularly meet these expectations, then they will excel to the level that they are able. It is my joy to help students master their music, to do the best they can, and to strive for and achieve excellence.

Lastly, I want students to enjoy and appreciate their instrument, music, and music-making; and I know as as a teacher, I am very influential in making this happen. Students develop enjoyment of music by understanding music, experiencing success in music, being exposed to good and varied genres of music, and receiving instruction from a teacher who is enthusiastic and encouraging. It is my goal to provide all of these opportunities for students, and as a result their lives will be enriched as they enjoy their instrument.

Great teacher. Much better than my theory teachers at Kennesaw State. If it wasn't for Maria I would have never gotten an A or even passed Music Theory or Aural Skills. I plan to start working with her in the fall to help me test out of Group Piano.

Our child has done so well with Ms. Maria. Lauren has just completed Level 5 of the ABRSM exams this past spring and did fantastic. This is our 5th year with Ms. Maria and we know we made the right choice by switching studios. Lauren is happy and progressing much farther than others in her previous studio. Highly recommend.

Roberta is amazing! I went to her for a little more than 3 years for voice (and piano for a little bit) and she is very helpful, skilled, friendly, knowledgable, and fun. She helped me get into my top choice college as a choral music major with a full tuition scholarship and supported me the entire way. Roberta knows how to work with any voice with any level of experience of any age. Not only is Robera a fantastic teacher; she is also very understanding and a great person to talk to. I would highly recommend her to any student in the area.

When I think about singing, I think about flow. The voice should be able to move without any inhibitions. I strive to sing in this way and to teach my students how to achieve to sing this way. My technique involves vocal warm ups that will help loosen your voice, your body and your mind. I also find that expression is very important in music. We will go into every song searching for the right emotions to convey not just for the song, but for yourself. With every lesson you will find it easier to correct yourself during your practicing and end up falling in love with making music.

About Mario
I am a professional singer who graduated as a Master vocal performer from the Universiy of Miami. I am happily married and my wife and I just moved to Lakeland from the hot Miami beaches!

I specialize in theatre music and am also passionate about a variety of styles ranging from pop to classical.
Whatever the genre, I will help you develop a technique that is tailored to you perfectly!

I sing a lot and am currently singing as one of the opera Tampa Singers at the Straz center in Tampa.
I love teaching and especially performing! But to get that singing gig it's all about the audition, and I've been there. So if you want to know how to score one with the judges during an audition, I'm your guy!

I have a passion for teaching and find finding a vocal technique that is just right with every single student!

Last year I taught voice and p
iano lessons at two different schools in Miami Florida, Florida Christian school and Miami Fine Arts academy. Both schools had wonderful students with great talent and after a year of study with me Every student was confident and excited to perform to show off their new musical prowess!

Ive also been teaching piano for several years and boy do I have a passion for this instrument. No other instrument can really compare to the music a piano can make in my opinion.

Nothing really beats the feeling of accomplishment you get once you've mastered a piano piece!

I love to meet other music lovers and cultivate a comfortable learning environment fit for musical growth! Let's do some work!

I found Mario to be a very knowledgeable instructor. He seemed extremely energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about the lesson. He listened to all the concerns I had about singing and really worked with me to begin the process of moving forward and singing with confidence. I appreciated how we didn't just stick with one style of music. He had me choose music from different genres. I would recommend him to anyone interested in singing. I meant to give him 5 stars in the previous review. I accidentally bumped one down. My apologies!!!

Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, passionate, and himself very talented, Mario is an outstanding voice teacher. What might be his best trait, however, is his belief in the capabilities of his students. Using a kind but gentle teaching style, he pushes students to develop their voices and become the better singers they want to be. Working with him, I improved immensely, and was sorry that his move meant he would no longer be my teacher. I am delighted, however, that others will get an opportunity to learn from him! You will love the vocal freedom that a solid technique affords!
My forte is the ability to casually convey the most advanced technical practices in such a way that you can use them in your favorite pop songs. I will teach you how to avoid harming your voice, and help you discover what your voice really wants to do! The voice has a life of its own, and I will teach you how to nurture and take care of it, like a beloved pet. When you cultivate your technique, that capricious voice of yours will begin to serve you and do whatever YOU want!
I have a Master’s degree in Opera, and an intense technical understanding of the scientific inner workings of the voice, BUT I really enjoy communicating that arcane knowledge in an infinite array of fun metaphors, easily-understood ideas, and, most importantly, practical experience.

About Nadine
I am an opera singer from New York City, with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, a Master of Music in Opera, and 18 opera roles to my credit. I have also sung in professional opera choruses, and have been the soloist in many churches. As a recitalist, I have made something of a specialty of Schubert's song cycle Die schöne Müllerin, performing it from Boston to Seattle. I can teach you correct diction in Italian, French, German, Latin, and Greek… and I’m learning Chinese.
Though I am primarily a singer now, I have been playing the piano for 27 years, and received a scholarship for piano accompaniment in grad school.
It is a great joy to me to take a complex musical idea, a music theory concept, or advanced vocal technique and explain it in terms that the youngest student can understand.
