I've been playing piano for 23 years and teaching it for 6 years. I provide nurturing and encouraging lessons in my home or in yours. I have a large library of piano music for students to use. Not everyone wants to start off playing classical music from composers like Mozart or Beethoven, and that's okay! I work with my piano students to create individualized learning plans.

About Emily
Born in southeastern Wisconsin, I began playing horn at the age of ten. For the past three summers, I have been a member of the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre Company in Logan, Utah. In the summer of 2013, I was in the pit orchestra for the Ohio Light Opera Company. My other festival activities include the Atlantic Music Festival (2012 orchestral fellow), the Music Academy of the West, and the Aspen Music Festival (2010 brass quintet fellow). As an orchestral musician, I have appeared with the Glens Falls Symphony, Cape Ann Symphony, Thousand Oaks Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony, the American Youth Symphony, and the Orquesta de Baja (Tijuana, MX). I have been a private horn instructor for eleven years and a private piano instructor for 6 years.

While living in the Midwest, I developed a love of orchestral horn pl
aying. I earned my bachelor’s degree in horn performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. I earned my master’s degree in horn performance at the University of Southern California. Currently I live in Raleigh, NC.

My other interests include swimming, reading, and baking.

I care about the unique goals of every student I teach, and always have a tendency to help them relax, have fun, and be themselves while learning. Full time music teacher for 4 years -- part time for 10. All ages and experience levels welcome.

Learn your favorite songs and connect to music the way it means the most to you. Jazz, classical, blues, funk, rock, and more.

About Isaiah
Former attendee of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston Salem as well as SUNY Purchase School of Music.

I've worked as a professional church choral music director, and have extensive experience teaching (in addition to piano) hand drums, drumset, singing, and beginning guitar -- all in a variety of genres.

I help singers achieve vocal freedom, connecting most directly to songs as well as their natural voice.

I perform around my local area in a variety of venues from upscale wine bars to weddings.

I live, teach, and play with passion -- and look forward to sharing that with every new student I meet.

Isaiah worked with me to identify my vocal range, and where I fell short in my vocal abilities. Isaiah gave me tailor made exercises to improve my singing . I began to hear the change in just a couple of sessions. He is really patient and individualistic in his approach, which makes him in awesome teacher. I would recommend Isaiah to anyone in a heartbeat.

I have been teaching music for over 5 years and I love working with beginning and intermediate piano players and horn players of all levels. I realize that each student is unique and always approach individual lessons with my student's particular goals in mind. I have a basic curriculum that I use in order to build a solid musical foundation for my students, but I am open to working on whatever kind of music or repertoire that they may enjoy. It is always exciting to me when a student learns a new skill that helps them in their musical expression or achieves a goal (such as playing a song they really enjoy) that gives them a little extra fulfillment in life.

About Rachel
I am a freelance horn player with a passion for teaching both horn and piano. I have a Bachelor's of Music from The University of Arizona and a Master's of Music from California State University Long Beach.

I have been teaching privately and in group settings for over 5 years and really enjoy getting to pass on the knowledge and musicianship that I have received from my teachers on to the next generation.

I teach using a base curriculum but also love to work on pieces that students want to play outside of their main course.

Are you passionate about music? Do you want to learn and enjoy the piano? I've played for 10 years and counting, and I'm more than excited to share my knowledge and love for music to improve your skill and spark your interests! I can teach all styles of music and beginners and intermediate students of all ages and will try to my best ability to customize every lesson to the student and help students feel comfortable in their learning environment! Please feel free to ask me any questions and contact me!

About Karen
Hey! I've played piano since I was 7, and I've loved it because I love expressing emotions and just being a part of the music. I've competed numerous times and have won numerous titles including first and second places and honorable mentions. I love music in general, as I also play guitar, drums, sing, and compose. I love teaching piano because I love to see my students "get" how to play and simply enjoy the music instead of stressing over how it sounds. Music not only is a skill, but a necessity, in my opinion. It helps many people deal with stress and day to day problems, and I'd hate for it to be the source of stress! After all, music is an expression that all languages and cultures understand; being able to enjoy music is something I hold very important, and I love helping people seek and find that interest!

I have been learning piano for 13 years and have performed for weddings and have received awards in multiple regional and state-wide competitions. I specialize in the beginner/intermediate piano student. All ages welcome! I can customize my lessons to the student's needs, but students should be expected to practice at least 30 minutes per day outside of regular lessons. My specific curriculum emphasizes scales and proper finger technique to ensure a strong foundation. On top of this, the student will learn music theory, sight reading, ear training, and more. Playing an instrument is meant to improve mood, increase intelligence, and enhance learning and concentration, so I treat my lessons as such. Let's start playing!

About Anna
I'm a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill majoring in Information Science with a minor in Music. I can help any student to play with confidence and expression as long as they have the motivation to practice!

I have been studying classical piano for 13 years since the age of 5. Classical music has served as a tremendous de-stressor for me. I was a solo competition pianist before joining a couple of orchestras during high school and eventually becoming the president of TACAS Symphony. I have performed at Carnegie Mellon, weddings, and ceremonies both solo and with other types of musicians. However, my passion for teaching trumps my passion for performing because I love sharing my knowledge with aspiring pianists for beginner/intermediate levels. My curriculum is based on equal mastery in music theory, technique, no
te precision, dynamics, expression, and rhythm.

I strongly believe that proper technique and a firm foundation is essential to any type of piano student. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better pianist!
