David is a very skilled drummer and a very enthusiastic teacher. In lessons, he seems to like to split time between practicing rudiments and learning to play different rhythms on the set. He is also exceptionally patient and supportive with my 9-year-old, highly distractible daughter. David is very positive, pointing out things that are going well and interesting rhythms that they discover. I am really glad we found David--he is an excellent teacher and I love watching my daughter learn so much about music!

About Drew
Growing up in a family with myriad different cultural backgrounds, I started early with an appreciation for a broad range of ideas and perspectives. Equally early I developed an immense love for music and sound, picking up drumsticks as my main means of expression.

I worked as the Extreme Music Coordinator as well as Music Director at WBUL, at USF in Tampa, FL; Graduated with an A.S. in Recording Arts and a Masters in Entertainment Business from Full Sail in Orlando, FL.

I then spent almost 2 years teaching English in Japan, playing and recording with several bands there. After moving back to the states, I started performing with bands in my native Florida, as well as participating in various music/dance collaborations, improvisational events, and playing cover band gigs.

After hours I play in an indie band called MCG, do session
work, compose, and love exploring my newest home, Austin TX. I look forward to meeting and sharing my love of music with you!

I teach all levels and styles of drumset. I tend to focus on groove and playing for the music while also making sure the student has a firm grasp on fundamentals and technique.

About Andy
I started playing drums when I was 9 years old. My passion grew through high school and I decided to go to college for music. I attended the Jazz / commercial music program at Temple University, graduating with a bachelor of Music degree. During my university training I had the opportunity to play in all kinds of Jazz, Funk and Fusion and Rock bands. I also played snare drum with the Temple Diamond Marching Band for 2 seasons as well as playing a season with the classical percussion ensemble.

Upon graduation I became involved with many local Philadelphia rock bands and played shows all over the Delaware Valley. I began teaching drum lessons at area music stores as well as worked as a recording engineer at the production music company Musicrafters.

After college and always hungry to learn more about my instrument, I traveled to New Yor
k City to study at Drummers Collective with Sandy Gennaro (Joan Jett, Cyndi Lauper) and Pete Zeldman. During this time I played with two very successful Philly based rock bands, Tenth House and Iota and the Minor Details.

Prior to moving to Los Angeles I was based in Asheville North Carolina where I played with several area artists. In 2014-2015 I did a substantial amount of touring all over the East Coast and Midwest with an alternative folk indie band called Matt Townsend and the Wonder of the World.

Currently I am located in Los Angeles.

I look forward to being your drum teacher !

Drummer with nearly 20 years experience playing in rock bands as well as in worship settings. Lessons begin with a focus on fundamentals of drumming (drum set) but can expand into what the student specifically wants to learn. We will also focus on the role of the drummer within a musical group and learn how to navigate those intricacies. Beginner and intermediate students preferred but all ages are welcome, its never too late to learn how to drum!

About Joel
I have been playing the drums for nearly 20 years, in which most of my experience is hands-on, playing in contemporary church worship teams and regional Christian rock bands with occasional teaching mixed in. Personally, my favorite style of music to play is rock/alternative but I also favor acoustic/folk styles, funky grooves, Latino rhythms, and the occasional metal, blues, or jazz beats.

No matter the musical style, playing with confidence, feeling the song, and having an awareness of other musicians can escalate you from a "good" drummer to a "great!" one; and this is what I teach my students. They will learn the fundamentals of stick position, rotary movements, basic drum hits and musical notation, as well as how to play on beat (with a "click"). These skills will enable the student to learn any style of music and increase their abi
lity to play the role of the drummer in virtually any band or musical group.

For example, the bands I have played in over the years have opened for multiple National acts like Red, Disciple, Project 86, and Decyfer Down and have played festivals and tours like Cornerstone Festival, Unity Festival, and Winter Jam, opening for Mercy Me, Jars of Clay, and Hawk Nelson. I truly believe that if you know your craft and have confidence in yourself, the sky is the limit for what you can do.

Currently, I play regularly at my local church and do worship nights and events in my area. I would be honored and pleased to work with you and help you become a great drummer!

I’ve had the privilege of playing guitar, with Joel as the drummer, in various bands. Hands down the best drummer I’ve ever played with. Joel is extremely attentive to what the rest of the band is doing which is a skill that so many drummers are missing. And he’s always on with that click track! Joel could always create whatever sounding fills I asked for, and then some. But ALWAYS tasteful. A very gifted musician.

Joel is also a man of integrity and an all around fun guy! One of my best friends on this earth!

Dan taught me to play dozens of genres over a decade of study, ranging from jazz and Latin standards to 9-min long progressive metal epics, and that one World Tour orchestral score with the tempo modulation. I've played at drop-in jazz jams and rock gigs thanks to Dan's training. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful experience with Dan as my son's drum instructor. My son started at a fairly young age (6) and was interested in playing more what he heard on the radio, anywhere from Taylor Swift to Metallica. Dan was extremely patient in developing his lessons with my son by incorporating these types of songs in his lesson and keeping my son's interest up throughout the 30 minute lesson/"jam session." I'd highly recommend Dan to anyone interested in learning drum skills like those of Neil Peart, Buddy Rich, and other rock and roll legends.

I have nearly a decade of experience playing drums. The love for my craft extends beyond the kit into everything I do. My lessons subscribe to a curriculum, but are largely based upon what the students needs are. Getting to know a student and their specific style, strengths, weaknesses, and goals are important for me. I will help develop technique, rudiment flexibility, practice schedule, and more. If you interested, shoot me a message and let's work together!

About Nick
I am drummer / musician with nearly ten years of playing under my belt. I push to expand my knowledge in all kinds of music, but have the most experience in rock and metal. My current projects include North of Eden, All Quiet Ire, and session work.

When it comes to music, I think it is important for everyone to find their voice. Whether on a microphone, horn, strings, or (most importantly to me!) drums, we all want to express ourselves. It is a continuing goal of mine to work with others on drums. Teaching is a vehicle in which I may help others learn, and in turn learn more myself.

My lessons can follow a set curriculum, though I first want to ensure the wants of the student. Everyone is at a different level with experience, strengths, weaknesses, and goals. I work to personalize it to the student and make sure they are pushed to a co
mfortable level, where they also notice improvement. If you are interested, you are welcome to send a message. Cheers!
