Charles has been great with my early skill development. He continues every week to stress the basic for my violin training. He remains supportive and patient. We have had lessons in person and online. I am beginner at 65 years old and I would highly recommend Charles Bossert as a violin, and other strings instruments instructor. My 9-year-old son, Luke, who is on the spectrum (PDD-NOS) studied with David for the better part of a year and the experience was terrific. In addition to being extremely communicative and reliable, David was kind and patient. David kept Luke focused and entertained while also inviting him to think about rhythm in ways that made sense to Luke's brain. We happily traveled from Inwood to "Downtown Brooklyn" for lessons because the level of instruction was that good and, I think, Luke's progress demonstrates that. Luke was bitten by the hockey bug, so we are taking a break from percussion right now, but I wouldn't hesitate to return to David's studio should time allow in the future.

I've been playing saxophone for 28 years, and professionally for over 20. My journey has taken me from beginner in school band to one of the largest music schools at the university level. I've played in a multitude of professional settings including clubs, festivals, tours, and recording studios. I'm classically trained but specialize in improvisational music, jazz, latin, and funk. Over the years I have been fortunate to play with and learn from some true masters. I can teach you the techniques necessary to perform at the highest levels and have fun doing it. Whether you want improve you sound, learn to sight read, learn songs, or play over chord changes at a jam session I'm confident I can help.

About James

I'm originally from the Dallas Fort worth area of Texas. I started playing in the sixth grade and immediately fell in love with all things saxophone. In the seventh grade I began private saxophone lessons and I became addicted. In high school music was the single most preoccupation of my days. I wo

Susan is not only an accomplished musician, but she is also an amazing teacher and mentor. She elevated my daughter’s musicianship and helped her find her true potential as a classical pianist. My daughter’s success as a competitive pianist is due to Susan’s instruction, encouragement, and guidance. When we started lessons with Susan, we struck gold!

Susan is an experienced concert pianist with world-class expertise in the instrument, yet she is also an approachable educator + coach who has done a great deal to advance my technique and interpretation. I’m glad to have found her. Advanced pianists will be pleased to find someone who can help raise their game even further, but regardless of your skill level, I don’t think you’ll regret signing up with her.

Susan was a PERFECT match for me. I really hate leaving her great knowledge. She has poured out to me her expert knowledge. Unfortunately, I am unable to continue. Susan is a teaching jewel to be cherished.

I am an experienced classical violin teacher who has been teaching for 5 years from ages 5-16, beginner to advanced! I focus heavily on technique and foundations so the student has a well rounded music education and confidence in the violin that they can take with them forever. For beginners I use the Suzuki books, I Can Read Music series, String Builder series and Winning Rhythms. For more advanced violinists I use the Introduction to the Positions series and etude books such as Wohlfahrt and Kreuzer.

I remember thinking about how I would probably never be able to learn to play an instrument, but after working with Karney for only a short time, that changed. "Versatile teacher dedicated to aiding you in developing your sound and understanding the things you hear in music in your daily life.

Alex is an excellent guitar teacher. His approach to teaching guitar and theory is fun and personalized. He assesed my playing, identified my strengths and weaknesses, and asked me what my goals were and what i expected to gain from taking private lessons. Then he tailored lessons to suit my individual needs and wants. Alex makes it a priority for me to recognize and develop my personal sound so i can better express myself musicaly both as an artist and a human being. Also the way he teaches theory is effective because he immediately shows its applicability. Most importantly Alex encourages me to take what I learn to the next level and challenge myself which is a habit that should be utilized in your study of music as well as you every day life. His consistancy, professionalism and overall positive attitude makes for a promising learning environment."
