Johnny was born and raised in Florence, South Carolina where at the young age of 16 made the most important decision of his life. He walked off of the baseball field and joined show choir. Since that day music has become a driving force in his life. He received his bachelors of music in classical voice performance from Belmont University in Nashville TN, and will be receiving his Masters of Fine Arts in Vocal Pedagogy and Classical Voice Performance from the prestigious Westminster choir college in Princeton NJ.
Johnny teaches singers from ages 10 to 94 whose aspirations range from perform
ing on Broadway, or just simply to sing better in the shower. Johnny believes that performing music should always be fun, because without fun music is just organized sound, not the language of the soul.

*** Lesson Details *** As a teacher many have described my style as nurturing-but-firm. When I see a student's potential, I make sure that student can attain it. I expect a willingness to learn, a desire to succeed, and a want for excellence. In return, I offer the tools to get the student there!
I know that not every student benefits best from only one method. As such, I employ a variety of teaching tools and methods to best suit each student. Strings students can expect to see a little bit of traditional training, a little bit of Suzuki and little bit of contemporary training. Voice students can see some Sieber vocalizes, some Vaccai, classical, jazz, and musical theater training built on an old-world teaching technique. It's all about giving the student the tools to do whatever he/she wants with his/her music of choice!
On your first lesson, I'll go over the materials needed, what you need to work on, and the very basics so you can immediately get to enjoying your new craft. In a few months, you'll be confident making new music or making better music. Within a year, you should be well prepared for one of my studio recitals!
*** Studio Equipment *** I have a commercial music teaching studio used solely for the purposes of teaching. In the studio there is a piano, my music library, photo copier, computer, audio equipment, stereo, music stands, standing mirror, and various teaching tools. James was very patient with my daughter and found ways to motivate her to practice. He always commented on how she did and encouraged her when she was discouraged. He made the lessons fun, and I didn't have trouble getting her to go to the lessons, even when she hadn't practiced much.

James is a great instructor. He not only knows how to get the most out of my voice but also, as a vocologist, he educates me about the voice and how the voice works, ensuring that I keep my voice healthy.
He knows I am just taking lessons for fun and lets me sing whatever songs I want. He's encouraging and supportive and I feel completely comfortable while at practice. Also, I leave feeling more relaxed and open!

Kelly is an indie singer-songwriter and voice teacher in Nashville, TN. She earned her masters in Commercial Music from Belmont University in May of 2015, and was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Student Award by the faculty. While at Belmont, Kelly performed actively at school and around Nashville, and taught voice lessons and the non-major voice class as a graduate teaching assistant at Belmont. She also earned the honors of being a finalist in the Vanderbilt Star Songwriting Competition and a quarterfinalist in the American Traditions Vocal Competition, and composed music for the musical Th
e Travels, produced off-Broadway as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2014. Her research centered on singer-songwriters and the intimate connection their singing voices have with their songwriting voices, and her findings have given her with new tools for evaluating vocal qualities and allowing these two types of voices to inspire each other.
Students develop their voices by improving their breathing quality, pitch, intonation, ear training and sight reading abilities. Recording is necessary to listen and improve quality of singing. Music will be distributed according to each performance goal.

I am a working artist/songwriter with placements on Nickelodeon, NBC, Rockband, international radio airplay and was featured on "This Sing Off" 2014 Holiday Special with Timothy's Gift (video below). I graduated from Belmont University in 2009 with a BA in Commercial Voice-emphasis in music business. I am currently the co-owner of The Recording Republic here in Nashville, TN where my partner and I write/produce music and help develop artists. I have been teaching voice, piano, theory, performance and songwriting on and off for the past 5 years and love every second of it. I Can't wait to mee
t you and see what goals we can reach together!
*** Lesson Details *** The most important things I focus on in my lessons are positivity and building confidence. The confidence learned expressing yourself creatively is something that bleeds over into all aspects of life. It's so wonderful watching a kid (or an adult!) gradually come out of their shells during the process.
During the first lesson, I sit down with the student and talk to them about their dreams and goals. That way, I can build a curriculum that perfectly fits their needs. We can learn anything their heart desires-from classical Beethoven to writing their own music! For basic piano I love to use the "Bastien" and "Alfred" basic collections because they are what I grew up on.
Can't wait to meet you!
*** Studio Equipment *** In my studio I have a weighted keyboard, mic, amp, mirror and video for recording performances.
*** Travel Equipment *** Mic, amp and video recorder are portable. Student must provide piano for in home visits. And plus, you'll need one to practice!
*** Specialties *** I specialize in beginner classical piano and improvisation, beginner-advanced voice, theory, performance and songwriting of all styles.

Brianne is working with my 11 year old daughter on basic vocal training. Brianne is an excellent instructor and vocalist. She has challenged my daughter and yet maintains a very positive attitude. We are thrilled with the lessons and plan to continue with Brianne.

Highly recommend Brianne!
I started taking piano lessons with Brianne a little over two months ago, and I have seen a huge improvement in my performance and confidence. Brianne is very professional and experienced, and she knows exactly what she's talking about. My favorite thing about the lessons is that she is takes time to get to know her students to find out exactly what their goals are and what they hope to get out of the lessons. I came in with some piano experience and an idea of what I wanted, and she was able to customize my lessons so that they perfectly fit me. Brianne is very encouraging and wants you to succeed. I would definitely recommend taking lessons from her!

I've learned soo much in such a short time
i've always wanted to learn how to play the piano but I never could find the right teacher. Brianne has really helped me find my place as a budding piano player. She is very thorough and makes learning fun. She creates such a calm atmosphere with no judgment and i really enjoy that. Another thing that separates her from the other teachers i've had is that she doesn't teach based on her agenda she teaches me what i want to know. I can't wait fro my next lesson!

"Everything you need and more...
One of my biggest issues with voice teachers is that they try to strip you of what makes you, you!
From day one, Peter g
ot to know me and works from the inside out to produce a sound that was not only connected to breath but emotionally invested and honest! So many actor's lack this nowadays. This is so valuable as a musical theatre actor. Also, he allows you to "go there" and provides a safe environment to do so.
Peter is willing to be patient and work with you long term. He was so invested in my work and reaching goals. He gives that extra bump of confidence I need and I always leave feeling great!
What is most profound... as a more classical musical theatre actor in a ever changing pop/rock world, I am able to confidently show up at an audition for a pop musical. He pulls this healthy pop/rock singing technique from the classical technique and it really works!
In terms of availability, he is flexible and worth every penny!"

"I received classes from Rosita a couple years ago. Her methods that she has taught me followed me. Now that I live in New York her voice is still in my he
ad. I know that sounds a little creepy but it's like having your mom's voice in your head before you do something. Through her classes I'm definitely more confident not only in singing but in myself. Out of all the teachers I have had and if you live in LA she is the only one I will recommend. Book her now! She teaches more than just singing, she teaches you how to be you and not be scared about it! Thanks Rosita for everything!!!!"

"Shannon makes learning, growing and performing lots of fun
I see Shannon primarily for voice lessons, but she really helps me prepare for every aspect of
auditioning. From vocal technique, to song selection, cuttings for auditions, getting out of my head and into the character, Shannon has been my guide every step of the way, and all with enthusiasm, laughter, encouragement, and wisdom. She's helped with my acting on songs, but she's also helped me to choose and prepare monologues and sides. She challenges me in every lesson so I'm always improving, and she's guided my first steps in this business. I am so grateful to have found her! Whether you want to pursue acting and singing as a career or a hobby, I highly recommend Shannon. She really makes it fun!"
