This was his first time learning, so we were nervous if he will enjoy learning piano, but David did an excellent job in guiding him through it. He is building up the level every week. Great session. very first piano lesson of my life. VERY comprehensive, so I'm not just learning to smash keys, I'm also learning WHY I'm smashing those keys.

I found David to be a patient and knowledgeable piano instructor.  As an adult learner I needed someone who understood my specific learning needs and learning style.  I was relatively new to online classes but David is quite good at it and I felt quite comfortable

David is a knowledgeable, prepared, timely and tech-savvy instructor.  He uses a split screen on the video calls so that you can see his hand placement while conversing with him at the same time.  I found this most helpful as a "true beginner" because I frequently needed to refer to his hand placement.

I was also fortunate that the time for our classes worked well for me, even though I am learning from overseas.

I look forward to continued lessons.

Personable, patient, good explanations of what  he asked me  to do.  Readily picked up when I wasn't getting it and explained another way until I did.  I am an adult learner with Parkinson's and his teaching style meshed  with my limitations perfectly.  I took to internet learning  easily so it  was a "win" for me.

I have played woodwinds for years, and plucked away at piano a little here and there. So, my education is pretty much a mishmosh. David was excellent at meeting me where I am in my education and planning out how to close the gaps in what I know as I progress forward. I've only had one lesson and learned quite a lot! Best personal teacher I've had so far. I haven't had different piano teachers, but I've had plenty of other types of tutors and this one is the best personality and teaches me the quickest vs others

Went over basics I knew with the first lesson, but now that he has, the basics I knew are now better instilled. I can look at any note and within a second find out which letter and octave it corresponds to on both piano and sheet music. After that he got me to use my hands faster and more accurately by practicing scales. As if his teaching methods weren't good enough, he also has a really flexible schedule. If you are unable to make a lesson, just give a 24 hour notice and he can shift the lessons down a week. The only nuance that I've experienced is that he asks me a few times to change my schedule. I can't complain, since it was a choice though, one that he asks if its ok and then goes forth with it. Much better than tutors for academic subjects I've had, and much better than my Guitar teacher in public school. 3 years of guitar case two weeks with piano, and I feel much comfortable on piano than on guitar already!

Learn to play Innocence by Friedrich Bergmuller. This is an early Intermediate piece. I teach this song to my late beginners as well. Bergmuller was a German pianist and composer from the early 1800's. This song is in the key of F major. It has chords in the base and 16th and 8th notes in the Treble Clef.

Bergmuller was a German pianist and composer from the early 1800's. In this piece you will play chord inversions in the base and 16th note rhythm patterns in the Treble Clef.

Ever Distant

This lesson is about building a major scale. Students begin with C and learn to build using the tone and half-tone pattern. Then with a gradual release of responsibility, students build their own scales using the pattern and begin on D and G. Students can go beyond the lesson by learning the minor scale pattern and trying to build harmonic minor scales from a starting note.

💡 In Addition: You will see some examples of playing scales in Parallel and Contrary motion. A demonstration of an Arpeggio and Broken Chords. How to form chords and play along with a music video.
