Aeolian Mode, Pt. 1: First Position

In this lesson, you will be learning the first of the five positions of the Aeolian mode up the fret board of the guitar, the Aeolian form or pattern.

Aeolian Mode, Pt 3: Third Position

In this lesson you will learn the third position of the Aeolian mode, the Dorian form or pattern. You will then see how it relates to the previous 2nd position through overlapping notes which "lock" it in place.

Aeolian Mode, Pt. 2: Second Position

In this lesson, you will learn the second position of the Aeolian Mode, the Ionian form or pattern. It will then be shown how they interconnect via overlapping notes, which "locks" them together.

Aeolian Mode, Pt. 4: Fourth Position

In this lesson you will learn the fourth position of the Aeolian mode, the Phrygian form or pattern. You will continue to also be shown how the Phrygian shares notes with the Dorian before it, "locking" it in place as to the order in which it occurs, that it is always the fourth position of the scale.

Aeolian Mode, Pt. 5: Fifth Position

In this lesson you will learn the fifth and final position of the Aeolian mode, the Mixolydian form or pattern. Again, you will be given an understanding of how this position is "locked" in place by shared overlapping notes, bot above (the Aeolian form at the octave) and below (the previous 4th pattern, the Phrygian form).

Aeolian Mode, Pt. 6: Transitions, Pt. 1

In this lesson you will begin to learn how to move between the five positions of the Aeolian mode, both ascending and descending between positions.
