I have really enjoyed taking drum lessons with Johnny Rabb. He is not only a highly accomplished and talented musician, but a phenomenal teacher as well. As an older adult student who has studied with other teachers, I find Johnny's teaching style to be very engaging, creative and fun. His style allows him to challenge his students, but not overwhelm them as they progress with their lessons. I highly recommend Johnny for any student who is looking to take their playing to the next level!

Groovy Judy is an excellent teacher. Very responsive, patient and most importantly fun to learn from. She follows up each class with an email including the music we worked on and short video of the strumming patterns if needed. So glad I signed up to learn Uke from her!

I have developed a natural teaching method that focuses on learning and understanding the building blocks of drum set playing, familiarizing and connecting these building blocks, and applying them to individual expression. I have the ability to take nearly anyone without prior drum set or rhythmic experience, and, within days, turn them into beat playing drummers! My approach focuses on:
-building an understanding and relationship with each drum
-the basic rudimentary foundation of drumming
-how to approach the drums, hold the sticks, set up the drums, and tune the drums
-basic mechanical techniques
-development of each limb
-learning how to read basic drum charts and play to them
-learning and playing the most significant beats and patterns in the history of drum set
-gaining the ability to effectively teach oneself how to improve as a drummer
-learning your favorite songs on drums
-how to play in a band

I emphasize a physically relaxed and technically accurate approach to cello playing so that students are free to create music without limitations or physical discomfort.
Though playing an instrument takes hard work, it should be a fun and enjoyable experience too! We will work together to ensure that you are learning pieces that interest you and inspire you to reach the next level. By the end of each lesson you will know what to work on for the week and exactly how to practice in order to achieve the most effective results.

Students will learn the fundamentals of music theory and history while focusing on improving their technical facility on the cello. Students also work towards building their comfort with the instrument by practicing increasingly complex exercises and repertoire.

Lessons will be highly interactive and geared towards your personal goals as an aspiring cellist.

About Laura

*** About Me *** I am a classically trained cellist in NYC. I have a master's degree in cello performance from a top NYC conservatory and I am a registered Suzuki teacher for books 1-10. In addition to performing music, I love to teach cello lessons to aspiring musicians of all ages! My musical as

My first lesson with Laura was even better than I had hoped. I'm an adult intermediate player who has not played in the past several years. Laura communicated with me several times prior to the lesson to check on my experience, goals, and music requests. During the lesson Laura identified and helped with several problem techniques and provided exercises to help correct them. She was friendly, professional, and made excellent use of our lesson time. She's an excellent coach and I'm so excited to have found her!

In my studio, I believe that my role is to steer students toward a deeper understanding of themselves, their instrument, and their relationship to music. I tailor my teaching to the needs of my individual students, who currently range from age 7 to adult, often adding improvisation and extended techniques to increase my students€™ awareness of the potential of the flute as a channel for one€™s creativity.

About Roberta

Flutist, Roberta M., is equally at home playing classical and new music. I Care If You Listen has extolled her “lush, full tones… even among the best professionals, not many flute players sound so compelling in a lower register.” Praising her “extreme adventurousness,” New York Concert Review said
