Book NowHi there,
Thank you very much for visiting my page! My name is Setsuko!
The big thing about my lesson is that I can customize your lesson based on your passion and interest :)
I will listen to you deeply, understand your goal and tailor a fun and inspirational lesson just for you!
After each lesson, I promise that you will feel so empowered being able to start to compose your original piece and understanding the music theory behind the composition.
I can break the music theory down and explain them in a way you will get it right away!
Through my lesson, you will gain the important tools to compose music and find your own voice as a composer :)
Please message me about what you want to learn, your passion and goal!
I am very looking forward to working with you!
Thank you very much.

I am an experienced classical violin teacher who has been teaching for 5 years from ages 5-16, beginner to advanced! I focus heavily on technique and foundations so the student has a well rounded music education and confidence in the violin that they can take with them forever. For beginners I use the Suzuki books, I Can Read Music series, String Builder series and Winning Rhythms. For more advanced violinists I use the Introduction to the Positions series and etude books such as Wohlfahrt and Kreuzer.

The bass guitar doesn't get a lot of love. That's unfortunate, because playing bass is an incredible feeling. It's a foundational instrument and bringing that sense of stability to a song can make it go from sounding okay to sounding like real music you hear on the radio.
My bass students are taught the foundational skills and techniques, but also the rhythm and feel of playing bass. An instrument with a fairly low barrier to entry, bass is one of the best ways to get playing quickly. Will you pick up the bass today?

I am a firm believer that anyone can learn how to play an instrument and enjoy doing so. Although my teaching style is grounded in establishing a foundation of strong technique, I am also well aware that not every student is going to enjoy or want to play classical music, and that's okay! My goal is to help my students establish a relationship with their instrument and music in general, so they are able to grow and develop in the direction they want.

Obviously, lessons changed to remote only in March 2020, but Brittany was still effective despite the lack of in person attention. We can hear how far our daughter has progressed on the violin in the last year, and Brittany’s patience and passion for music come through in how she cares for her students and their progress. There are of course days she doesn’t necessary feel like doing her lesson, but every single time that she goes into it feeling that way, she has come out of the meeting with a big smile on her face.
If our son decides to learn violin or viola when he goes into middle school next year, it won’t be a question about who we will ask to help on his journey, and Brittany will have another student.

My learning experience with Ron has been great! I'm truly getting to know my instrument and what it takes to be a good musician. The lessons are designed to my specific needs and cover the full spectrum of musicianship.
