I am very pleased with my first lesson! Yuko's method of instruction made it easy for me to catch on to patterns and to notice similarities to English and other languages. I am excited about how far I can go with her instruction.

My son really loved Yuko who replaced his previous teacher who is no longer with Takelessons. He knows how to play some kids songs already. But after their lesson, there is this an instant motivation to learn deeper.
He is now having learning with Yuko.

Ever since I discovered Dragon Ball Z on Toonami back in the early 2000's, I have come to develop a love of all things Japan, specifically anime and J-pop. My experience with learning Japanese started back when I started studying at home with my older brother back in 1999 or so, and then started studying Japanese at college, which culminated in the completion of a minor in Japanese as part of my BA. I have also visited Japan one time to visit my older brother who was teaching English over there at the time. I love Dragon Ball (among many, many other anime) and T.M. Revolution.

15 Fun-to-Say Japanese Onomatopoeias (With Audio)

What Are Japanese Onomatopoeias? An onomatopoeia is a word where meaning is derived from a sound, or when a word sounds like how it looks. In English, we have onomatopoeias like "cock-a-doodle-doo" for the sound a rooster makes, or "crunch" for the act of crushing things. Onomatopoeias are quite common in many, if not all languages.
