Whether you are an aspiring artist, a total beginner, a kid who loves art, a teen building a competitive portfolio, or someone who's always wanted to learn to paint, I will help you develop your technical skills and find your voice as an artist! In our lessons, you will paint from life, exploring composition, concept, and mood through creative assignments. You will train your eye as you paint still lifes, landscapes, portraits, figures, abstractions, and beyond! I will show you examples of historical and contemporary painting as we practice a range of techniques. You will gain confidence through practice and experimentation as you work towards developing your own style as an artist! And most importantly, you’ll have fun! I can’t wait to work with you!

Watercolor has a very special place in my heart because it is most like Scenic painting which was my career for 10 years before I became a teacher. There are some wonderful, quick, techniques you can learn in the first few lessons. If it is your first experience in art, I would recommend a few lessons in drawing or design before continuing. Watercolor is not an easy medium and so I don't recommend it to students with no drawing or design experience, however, a few lessons in these areas can get you on your way and if your interest is in using watercolor for abstract paintings or design work, then it can easily be incorporated into the watercolor lessons.

We will learn the very basic mechanics of how to paint with watercolors. We will explore different techniques in watercolor painting, including washes, wet in wet work, and glazing. There will be practice exercises each lesson that then will be applied to a painting. Working in this beautiful medium is fun and rewarding. My lessons and classes are designed for the beginner just getting comfortable with watercolor, as well as the intermediate painter.

As experienced teacher of 10 years and professionally trained artist I teach wide variety art forms from abstract art to traditional painting and drawing. Lessons are customized and catered to the needs and goals of each student. I combine intuitive and academic approach to creative process what gives my studies best of both worlds. You will have certain freedom but at the same time receive specific and applicable skills. Not only you will be painting in no time but you will be building a strong foundation of art theory, various techniques, media, and more!
