Since I was 16 I have made a professional life performing at a keyboard of some description. So that makes for a lot of years of playing. (Check my hair color)
We record you in a recording studio environment from the first lesson.
Lots of styles: every possible kind of band, jazz, rock, funk, blues, country, solo.... Whatever you want to play there is a pretty good chance I can help you realize your dream. And get started fast.
An integrated approach:
Music almost always involves several skills. Below are some of the complementary skills that I can help you with.
In my Semper Method, we always address several of them at every session. For example, we record, sing and play all the time. To sing you should be able to pick out intervals at the piano, or better yet, accompany yourself and everyone needs some music theory. So it really is all one thing.

2-3 times a year both solo and rock band recitals are held
Performing over 200 shows a year, I have the experience to teach everything from the basics of how to prepare to being on stage, to helping an advance performer hone his or her stage presence, to be better able to connect with both the audience and fellow performers to create a meaningful performing experience
We have 2 to 3 recitals a year as well as participate in the Michigan Music Association Competition in February each year. It is a wonderful experience for the students to show what they have been learning and also see what other students have been learning. The recitals and the competitions are not required as a part of lessons but they are encouraged as performing is a good addition to learning music. My students and their parents are very supportive of one another and are always thrilled to have another join in our group. One of the very important aspects of performing is sportsmanship and it is one that I take very seriously and I feel it is important for students to learn this not only for music but for life.
I basically prepare the student for the unexpected things that happen in the music world. What their perspective should be with music and how it will effect their individual lives. I also would point out the do's and don'ts of performance preparation.
