Rochelle O. Matthews, NC

Spanish is such a beautiful language but it has it's challenges! I know because, I too, a am Spanish learner. I also know that immersion is key. I use the method that has proven most effective with my own children- simplicity, repetition and LOTS of visuals, like flash cards, puzzles, and board games. After the basic greetings, alphabet, and numbers, we cover everyday vocabulary and advance to reading, grammar and sentence structure. My goal is to help you become a fluent Spanish-speaker fast!

I have taught at public libraries, in a volunteer group in Spain and also at Berlitz Institute in Mexico. So to be honest I loved the blessing of having experienced personalities of 3 different cultures. I got to meet people of all ages, from teenagers at the library to high level executives in around Mexico. I studied at the University of Colorado at Boulder, great place by the way, with a bachelor's in Business Administration and Spanish for Business Professions. Faith A. Charlotte, NC

I have a passion for the Spanish language and have had the opportunity to study abroad in South America (Argentina, Chile, and Puerto Rico) in order to sharpen my skill. My teaching philosophy and my success is hinged on the student's ability to feel comfortable to ask questions and participate in a session, but also feel challenged--without this, there is no growth. I intend to well equip students to thrive and be comfortable in both a classroom setting, and in the real world.

About Faith

I am a college student at Queens University of Charlotte majoring in Spanish and minoring in New Media Design. I am a native of Charlotte and enjoy the diversity and youth this city has to offer. Studying Latin American language, art, and culture is a passion of mine, and I plan to continue my education to become a Spanish professor at a University. My hobbies include photography, guitar, and voice.
