Students of all ages in a personal relaxed atmosphere.
Customized to each student. If the student has not previously taken lessons I use Piano Adventures as the basic course guide. I have found it the most productive and enjoyable for my students. I uses a minimum of the Lesson and Theory book for my younger students with either the basic course or Accelerated course depending on their age and maturity. Adults begin with the All In one adult book. I add the other books that accompany each level based on the particular students needs and interests. I believe that a good grounding in Theory is essential as a student who becomes proficient in sight reading, no matter how well he/she plays by ear, will find that the doors for lifetime musical fulfillment with be much wider. However, with a student who has already had some lessons I will be happy to continue with any method that the student is currently using.
I also believe in supplementing the Piano course with the student's favorite ...

Kathy came to my home for my lesson. She has a very pleasant personality and it is very easy to follow her instructions. She kept the pace up, yet did not overload me. It's been a number of years since I have played and she did an excellent job on getting me back on the keys. I am looking forward to our next lesson.

"I have been studying with Maria for two months and she is the best piano teacher I have ever had. I played piano very seriously as a child, with excellent instruction using the technique of Josef and Rosina Lhevinne. As an adult, I did not play for several decades, so I am returning to piano as an older adult student. In the two months we have worked together, I have made tremendous progress.

The technique Maria teaches emphasizes using the weight of the body to produce sound while keeping the hands and arms relaxed and fluid, which not only produces a most beautiful and expressive tone, but protects the body from injury. Although similar to the Lhevinne technique, Maria’s technique takes it to higher level. Many piano teachers do not teach a technique but, in my opinion, solid technique is critical for an advanced student and best learned from the beginning.

Maria is patient and detail oriented and teaches all aspects piano with mastery. I highly recommend her."

"I take Piano and Vocal lessons from Steven for almost two years now, and have no complaints about him. He pushes me to do better with my work and helps me understand things that I couldn't with past teachers. On piano, he helps with my learning by ear, as well as reading music. On my vocals, he helps me perfect my singing with exercises and keeping an inner glow to my face that most successful singers have.
I extremely recommend trying him out!"

Thinking about taking voice lessons? Getting that one-on-one guidance is key when you want to learn how to sing. Here, Saint Augustine, FL teacher Heather L. discusses some of the FAQs she has received, to help you get started:   I've taught piano and voice lessons for the past 11 years. Over that time, many different questions, from parents, colleagues, and students themselves, have come my way. If you're thinking about starting voice lessons yourself, or if you have a child who's …
